Three Maryland dogs inherit $400,000

HAGERSTOWN, Md — They're not as loaded as Leona Helmsley's pooch, but three Maryland canines are plenty rich enough to live high on the dog. The dogs — named Buckshot, Katie and Obu-Jet — inherited $400,000 and a house in Hagerstown with the death of owner Ken Kemper, the Associated Press reports. Altogether, their estate is worth about $800,000. The beagle and two Labrador mixes were strays when Kemper adopted them. They now live at their house with caretaker Roy Grady. They might not be aware of their wealth, but they do know that on one night a week Grady treats them to spaghetti dinner, with meatballs and garlic bread. "They love it," he said. ...

Get Ready for a Major, Major Disappointment (Ron Paul's Built-In Loss) [Full Thread]

Merry Xmas everyone and may your grandest wishes come true, for as long as they don't come into conflict with my own :). I haven't done a vanity in a long, long, long time but I felt that it's important to discuss the reality of where RP is currently heading. Disclaimer: I stand for just about everything RP stands for. 'Just about' stands for his continuing membership in the stupid, evil, dangerous GOP party. Now, on the topic of Ron Paul. I just watched a clip of him on the Tim Russert show where RP re-stated in the most forceful way that he has no intention whatsoever to run for US Prez outside of the GOP reservation. The inescapable conclusion, therefore, is that RP ...

What about Jim Webb as RP's Vice President? [Full Thread]

I'm thinking more about posters' comments on another thread regarding suggestions for RP's running mate...and I know at this point we are getting ahead of ourselves, but what the heck, it's Christmas and it's okay to be frivalous... Perhaps Judge Napolitano might be a better fit as Attorney General. And Senator Jim Webb ( a former GOP'er who left the party because of the neocon take-over) might be a good candidate for RP's Vice President. Webb is very personable and articulate and he is old school conservative. ( I don't see him as a Dem frankly. That marriage is one of convenience for all parties concerned). So what do you guys think of my VP candidate ...

I took a wicked gash in the leg today, above the left knee when an angle grinder slipped from my hand and hit me on the leg. In a split second it cut through my jeans and made a gash about 2 inches long and a half inch deep. Naturally, I'm too tough for hospitals and stitches, so after I covered it with paper towel and electrical tape (lol) I went to the pharmacy for some butterflies. That's where I found these neat new things. They are "Doctor's Choice" Skin Closures. They are these cool little strips about 3 inches long. The strips come 5 to a "kit", with 5 kits to the box for $8.99. You expose the adhesive at one end of the 5 strip kit, and press it ...

I have someone who is claiming that Ron Paul "erroneously equated Osama's 9-11 actions as a legitimate resistance to foreign invasion, state to state." He is referring to that first debate question were Giuliani came back at him. I really would love to have a clip of the exchange or something to counter this claim.

Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know. - Ernest Hemingway, author and journalist, Nobel laureate (1899-1961) Hemingway, who took his own life in 1961, knew his share of both intelligent people and of unhappiness. He lived through two world wars, the Great Depression, four wives and an unknown number of failed romantic relationships, none of which would help him to develop happiness if he knew how. As Hemingway's quote was based on his life experience, I will base the following speculation on both my personal and my professional experience as a sociologist. Not enough study exists to quote on this subject. Western society is not set up to nurture ...

Having been banned from Liberty Post hasn't stopped me from visiting occaisionally, watching the animals feed, and being alternately saddened and amused. Thus the title of this thread as watching what is occurring is like watching a Train running into a Sewer. With some of their chief opponents gone the 'bots and shills seem to be redoubling their efforts to load El Pee down with various types of noxious effluvium. A quick look at the "topics" under discussion, now that only anti-Ron Paul Threads are allowed, reads like a pornucopia of Spin, Disinformation, and more Spin. While some of the titles seem superficially interesting when one deals with the substance of the ...

There's a lot of conflict on LibertyPost right now regarding Goldi's new Ron Paul rule. A lot of people think its unfair to ban discussion of a particular candidate - and it probably is. I have a suggestion for solving the problem. Goldi should just ban all political discussion on Libertypost. Discussion should be limited to a bunch of guys sitting around calling each other fags and muzbots - and maybe telling each other to shut up. This would be fair to everyone and it wouldn't really change the content of the site that much. I would be curious to hear what others think of this.

Ok, I spent a couple days back on El Pee and I am actually less intelligent as a result from my time there. I can only hope that the collection of truly stupid she malish chickenhawks who inhabit that site are not representitive of even a small fraction of Americans. Sad, frightening, and depressing. If such posters are representitive of America- then I can only hope this country self destructs before it kills billions of innocent people. Truly deranged personality types.

I thought I'd throw this out there, because something very weird has been going on for the last 4 days. I use a few different firewalls to protect my machine, and one of them tattles on who is trying to hack me. I only seem to get hacking attempts while on Freedom4um. I can go to every other website and never have a problem, but without fail, the last 4 days, if I hop on here, I get hacking attempts left and right. Now, the latest one came from COLT, in Portugal. I have the DNS info and everything. I sent them a tersely worded e-mail asking them to explain themselves. Of course they don't speaka no English, so I won't likely get a response. Last year, I predicted publicly that nothing significant was going to happen this year, as far as our (police) state affairs were concerned. It turns out that I was correct. The pre-existing trends kept trending as before but we didn't run into a catastrophe yet. The US didn't attack Iran, the Chinese didn't take over Taiwan and the US didn't go bankrupt yet. The housing industry and the mortgage lenders are going through a crisis but, if you have $100 in your pocket, that will NOT buy you a luxury mansion, not even a condo except maybe in the South Bronx. The oil price continues to rise but we don't have a world-wide recession yet. Now, for predictions: will Bush ...
