A mission using Flechette rockets(rockets filled with nails), followed up by an explination and a test run using the Flechettes. Poster Comment:I knew a guy in Illinois who was in the invasion of Cambodia. He always carried extra frags. At night they would camp off the trail and set up Claymore mines along the trail. One time an NVA patrol came thru. The guy on the switch for the Claymores was asleep. He just started throwing frags. He was awarded a South Vietnamese medal for killing Communists but he never picked it up.

Marilyn Monroe Lost Nude Scene From ‘The Misfits’ Discovered Bruce Haring 1 day ago A nude scene long believed lost featuring Marilyn Monroe in John Huston’s The Misfits has been re-discovered. The footage, cut from the film by Huston, was previously believed to have been destroyed. Author Charles Casillo made the discovery during the research for his book, Marilyn Monroe: The Private Life of a Public Icon, out via St. Martin’s Press on Tuesday. Casillo interviewed Curtice Taylor, son of Misfits producer Frank Taylor, and learned that he has kept the footage in a locked cabinet since his father’s death in 1999. In a love scene with Clark Gable, Monroe dropped ...

John W. Whitehead’s excellent article, Government Eyes Are Watching You: We Are All Prisoners of the Surveillance State, discusses what many persons believe to be the greatest, most innovative television series ever aired, The Prisoner. That is certainly my opinion (but Nowhere Man runs a very close second). For younger LRC readers (and viewers) unfamiliar with this classic series which first ran 50 years ago, here are all 17 episodes.(Videos at the link)

The key moment in the self-destruction of the once great American city of Detroit over the past half century can be dated precisely to July 23, 1967, when blacks began the Detroit Riot. Before 4,700 paratroopers from the U.S. Army’s 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions finally halted the orgy of criminality, African Americans had looted 2,500 stores and burned down 400 buildings in their own neighborhoods. The next year, 80,000 whites moved out of Detroit. (In 2017, the total population of Detroit is almost a million lower than fifty years ago.) Of course, today we are instructed to think of these white refugees from black violence not as victims but as perps. Almost nobody is ...

When The Dukes of Hazzard premiered on January 26, 1979, it was intended to be a temporary patch in CBS’s primetime schedule until The Incredible Hulk returned. Only nine episodes were ordered, and few executives at the network had any expectation that the series—about two amiable brothers at odds with the corrupt law enforcement of Hazzard County—would become both a ratings powerhouse and a merchandising bonanza. Check out some of these lesser-known facts about the Duke boys, their extended family, and the gravity-defying General Lee, which made their small-screen debut 38 years ago today. 1. I have waited 60 years for this. Not really. That's because I would not, in my wildest imagination, have imagined it could happen. There is a movie on Florence Foster Jenkins. Even more amazing, it is titled Florence Foster Jenkins. It doesn't ring a bell, does it?It rang a bell for me.In 1956, I was working at a record store. It was my first regular job. Another employee, Lype O'Dell, who later became an actor, recommended that I listen to a 10-inch LP record. It was titled simply Florence Foster Jenkins. The cover was a tipoff, but I was naïve. I did not see what was coming. Then he put it on the turntable and had me listen. I could not believe my ears.I read the liner ...
