REXBURG, Idaho (AP) — Republican gubernatorial candidate Rex Rammell says his remarks about buying hunting tags for President Barack Obama have been a boon to his campaign.

The former elk rancher also blames Democrats and the media for overblowing his comment and being too defensive.

Rammell tells the Rexburg Standard Journal that the problem with Democrats is they can't take a joke.

But neither can some of Idaho's top Republicans.

Last week, Idaho's Republican governor and congressional leaders condemned Rammell for his response at a political rally when someone shouted a question about "Obama tags" during a discussion about Idaho's wolf hunt. Rammell responded: "The Obama tags? We'd buy some of those."

Rammell, who is seeking the GOP gubernatorial nomination for 2010, has refused to apologize and says he was only joking.

No telling how much money could be made, or raised, by printing up those tags.

'For entertainment purposes only,' of course.

Remember the guy that was sentenced to 2 years in prison for making a 'joke' about Bush and a "Burning Bush"?

Rightly or wrongly, it is just a matter of time before someone is thrown into the slammer, a sacraficial lamb, so to speak.

Just thinking about all those who are truly worthy of air-dancing lessons is depressing...that, and knowing that nothing will ever happen to them in this life.

Which is it...Rightly or wrongly? Also do you like Obama and do you think he is a good president?

Well of course, that would depend on the situation.
