I cannot understand any wife that would remain with such a husband, children or no.
Firstly she was a fool for ever getting involved with him, now a bigger fool for staying.

I'm not sure any prenup could stand up after his behavior.
On the bright side, it must be a living hell for him at his house with his wife and her mother there.
