"The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans.

should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be."

Medina should have answered the question as she asserted in her followup statement.

Her original statement on air was not good.

is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11.

is no doubt in my mind that we still do not have the full and complete story of what all happened on 9/11 - would have been a much better (and honest) statement.

She's less than worthless. Just another ZioNutter.

Foreigners would never hurt the U.S. and only the U.S. government is a threat to the people of the U.S.

The U.S. government is controlled by multinational corporations and Wall Street banksters, none of whom owe allegiance to any single country, much less this one.

It was Ralph Nader of all people who tried to have the directors of Fortune 500 corporations recite the Pledge of Allegiance before their board meetings. They almost invariably refused to do so, citing what I just said. They operate in many countries and owe no particular allegiance to any single one of them.

“I would give no thought of what the world might say of me, if I could only transmit to posterity the reputation of an honest man.” - Sam Houston

well, i dont know...

there's some reason they're afraid of her, otherwise they wouldnt have stuck their necks out like this.

it could be that's she's just so squeaky clean that they didnt have a handle on her, and now they got one...

she's seen the power of the media, and she knuckled under, and she's on record, badmouthing the truthers.

chalk up one for the israeli american establishment.

Ambush journalism

Ambush journalism refers to aggressive tactics practiced by journalists to suddenly confront and question people who otherwise do not wish to speak to a journalist. The practice has particularly been applied by television journalists, on news shows like The O'Reilly Factor [9] and 60 Minutes[citation needed] and by Geraldo Rivera and other local television reporters conducting investigations.

The practice has been sharply criticized by journalists and others as being highly unethical and sensational, while others defend it as the only way to attempt to provide those subject to it an opportunity to comment for a report. This can usually be discerned by the level of physical aggression the journalist displays and in the time allowed for an uninterrupted answer.

Glenn Beck slams Debra Medina for not disavowing 9-11 truthers

TV and radio commentator Glenn Beck dismissed the candidacy of Debra Medina when she left open the door to a conspiracy fringe group that believes the U.S. government might have been behind the 9-11 destruction of the World Trade Center.

Beck, a leading personality for conservatives, asked her point blank if she believed such a theory.

"I don't have all the evidence there, Glenn," Medina replied. "So I'm not in a place - I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There's some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there so I've not taken a position there."

He then asked if she would disavow people on her campaign team that held such a theory.

"I'm certainly not into mind control or thought policing people," Medina said. "I don't see us having a team of radical individuals, if you will."

When she signed off the program, Beck let out a long Oooh.

"I think I can write her off the list," he said. "Let me take another look at Kay Bailey Hutchison, if I have to. Rick, I think you I could French kiss right now."

Of Medina giving some countenance to such a conspiracy theory, Beck said, "Wow, the fastest way back to four percent."

UPDATE: Medina's response

"I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9-11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9-11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.

"The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty. It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.

"The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it's Rick Perry and the his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout. It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government. Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway. I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that's the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be."

imagine the ripple effect throughout the country.

something like that is gonna happen, sooner or later.

and sooner or later, they're gonna have to shut down the internet and start locking people up.

as time wears on, the whole project, starting with 9/11, becomes more and more obvious.

Does anyone know why Beck was interested in Medina to begin with????

My best guess would be that his paymasters, seeing their boy hair-spray and their girl kay-baby, going down in flames, told him to be interested in Debra.

And to blindside her with the 9/11 business.

I agree with the first half, but not the second half. For example China's communist party is coming close to becoming the unquestionable top power in the world.

The nations of the E.U. are politically at each others' throats on the Euro and debt defaults.
