NPR was up in arms a while back about Croatia's dozen or so presidential-security bureaucracies. But how much have they questioned the 1271 government-security bureaucracies in America?

.. and 1,931 private contractors.

Private contractors are like a sieve.

Glomar Explorer was the most egregious example.

Howard Hughes under contract to CIA to refit the Explorer for salvaging a Russian submarine, days after all technical plans were finalized and committed to paper, a copy of the entire scheme was delivered to the Russian embassy in Washington.

Top secret was the lowest clearance of any of the material.

They bill like lawyers if not worse. I can't even begin to tell you how many times our employees would bill the Gov't. for 40 hours when so many less than that were worked for them with time going to proposals or other stuff.

After the military, I was a lab employee of Martin Aircraft.

Monday thru Friday we worked on all missile contracts. On Saturdays we worked for overtime on fixed cost contracts and wrote them off on cost plus contracts.

Everyone was aware of that...INCLUDING THE AIR FORCE AND NAVY... in house reps.

Then they turn around and insist that everyone needs to be honest when it comes to firm resources. Yeah, sure.

Imagine having to insist on honesty. I wonder why they thought their employees might be dishonest. LOL!
