Q. How do you know when your country is infested/overrun with JIZ?

A. When you have to get your news from PressTV, Pravda and al-Jazeera.

Godfrey Smith: Mike, I wouldn't worry. Prosperity is just around the corner.
Mike Flaherty: Yeah, it's been there a long time. I wish I knew which corner.

"The "Lone Star" of Texas arose in dim luster at Washington town, March 2, 1836. San Jacinto gave it effulgence---to shine with increasing radiance as the years roll by. It is the Star of Empire.

The Aftermath

The first day of a free Texas was a glorious one. As the sun arose on the morning following the battle it seemed to me to shine with more splendor; all nature appeared more radiant and beautiful; the fields of bluebonnets lending an azure bue to the landscape, appeared even more brilliant and fragrant. We were all happy. By daylight the Texan camp and the nearby battlefield was a scene of activity. Groups could be seen about the campfires, preparing roast beef-about all we had for breakfast; the boys were jesting and laughing as if on a holiday jaunt, others looking after their hobbled horses that had strayed out on the prairies; and some saddling up for a scout up the bayou. After breakfast men were seen all over the battleground, gathering up arms, accoutrements, and articles of various kinds which the Mexicans had abandoned in their stampede the evening before, while some of the boys were amusing themselves by decorating the mules and horses with officer's sashes, ribbons, and gold tinsels."

The grand children and the great grand children of those brave men have thrown it all away.

That's actually scary - and too true.

Ever since someone sent me a link to presstv, it's stayed an open tab in Firefox here.

A quick glance at the Fort Wayne Journal JIZette yielded me the following wisdom this morning, more or less:

The economy's never been better.
Unemployment is at an all-time low.
Libya is on the verge of attacking us if we don't attack them first.
GM's latest & greatest, gas- gulpiest new SUV is going to save the country.
Iran & its massive nuclear arsenal is seconds away from wiping Israel off the face of the map if we dont attack them first.
All of our country's economic problems are because of the Muzzies & Chinks.

And the sales ads sucked.

Godfrey Smith: Mike, I wouldn't worry. Prosperity is just around the corner.
Mike Flaherty: Yeah, it's been there a long time. I wish I knew which corner.

Just the exact reasons that I've not read our Daily Failure for well over five years now...and the rag costs $275/year. What a waste, but Mrs.L likes getting it for some reason...

Folks used to come to the door trying to sell me the Houston Barnacle. They would leave pretty downcast after I told them what I think of that paper.

They don't come around any more. Hope they didn't take it personal.

Let's don't forget a Second San Jacinto!!

The battle lasted 15 minutes.

"If ever this vast country is brought under a single government, it will be one of the most extensive corruption, indifferent and incapable of a wholesome care over so wide a spread of surface. This will not be borne, and you will have to choose between reform and revolution. If I know the spirit of this country, the one or the other is inevitable." - Thomas Jefferson

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

They're probably not working there anymore due to budget cuts.

Poor contract schlubs. I try not to holler at them. They're just using up shoe leather, trying to make a buck.

I do tell them where the newspaper are in this country however.

LOL

The Pentagon announced TODAY the formation of a new 500-man elite fighting unit called the United States Redneck Special Forces (USRSF) These boys will be dropped off in Afghanistan and have been given only the following facts about terrorists: 1. The season opened today. 2. There is no limit. 3. They taste just like chicken. 4. They don't like beer, pickups, country music or Jesus .... 5. They are directly responsible for the death of Dale Earnhardt. The Pentagon expects the problem in Afghanistan to be over by Friday.
