CO2 is not a pollutant. It is necessary for life actually
Burning oil does more than just produce CO2. In fact, the production of petroleum derived plastics does a LOT more damage to the environment.
What the question was in terms of global warming was whether or not the CO2 was rising to abnormal levels, where the earth could not absorb what was being produced.
Humans don't require CO2, but plants (including ocean plankton) do. Thing is, too much of ANYTHING can be bad.
Bottom line is, there are more than likely cheaper and better ways to produce energy, and to produce necessary items such as plastics. Thing is, there is NO way in hell they will be allowed to replace oil, since those who pull the strings rely on oil for their monopoly on power and energy.
Hence, the idea that oil companies would be FOR curtailing their own profits seems a bit ludicrous.

Like I said, I'm not convinced one way or the other. Climate change is what is predicted, not so much "warming", but vast changes in weather patterns. Now is it caused by too much carbon dioxide? Who knows.

That may well be I can't speak to what he believes. Nor is it my intent to defend Buck here. He would hate that. I'm just trying to remind everyone that Buck does not take posting on these site seriously. Most times he simply trying to provoke people, half the time he is being sarcastic, or his version anyway.
