Hard to say with that post what his real intent is. His defense of Yukon may have been real for all I know. You just don't know with Buck. I wouldn't take any of it for real. CO2 is not a pollutant. It is necessary for life actually
Burning oil does more than just produce CO2. In fact, the production of petroleum derived plastics does a LOT more damage to the environment.
What the question was in terms of global warming was whether or not the CO2 was rising to abnormal levels, where the earth could not absorb what was being produced.
Humans don't require CO2, but plants (including ocean plankton) do. Thing is, too much of ANYTHING can be bad.
Bottom line is, there are more than likely cheaper and better ways to produce energy, and to produce necessary items such as plastics. Thing is, there is NO way in hell they will be allowed to replace oil, since those who pull the strings rely on oil for their monopoly on power and energy.
Hence, the idea that oil companies would be FOR curtailing their own profits seems a bit ludicrous.

Watching yukon and his 24 hours posting schedule I wondered if it was not more than one person....
I always suspected yukon was more than one person due to his change of personality depending what day of the week or time of the day he was posting.

Posts can be edited up to a certain amount of minutes after posting, and that time is configurable. I probably made it so if it's set to zero, then it won't allow it. LP may be configured differently. I don't know.

Of course, the threads you choose to Ignore will pile up in a list in the Setup area, on the Content Filter page (where your bozo list is). So you have to go and delete them out. For this reason, I just don't use that feature. I'm not sure how I would want it to behave differently though. I just know I don't use it as I want to avoid having to go clean it up. Also, introducing more things for the database to scan through increases server CPU load and the general speed of 4um so I don't like to do anything that makes 4um run any slower. At present, it's nice and quick and I like it that way.
