I occasionally work at a nursing home a few days a month. I was in the dining room alone with a late-stage Alzheimer's patient in a total vegetative state who I watched jackknife out of his wheelchair and land on his left eyebrow, splitting it to the bone. He didn't make a sound.
He's in the hospital now, in quite bad shape.
The law prevents us from restraining these people.
Thirty years ago there were two million people with Alzheimer's. Now there's 20 million. The money spent on these people through Medicare is just astronomincal and gets worse every day.
