We did this to ourselves.

We the people, did this to ourselves.

WE, WE and nobody else, did this to ourselves.

I'm sure that all of us who thought in 2000, when Bush II got elected, that our country would head in a positive direction. Little did we know that during the Clinton Administration, the stage was set for an economic collapse, one of which conveniently took place on 9-11, with the ENRON scandal and others. During the course of 8 years, our dollar was devalued, corporations went bankrupt, got bailouts, and the tax payer had the debt to pay.

In 2008, the beginning volleys of collapse started taking place, and we started to see huge problems with Goldman And Sachs, AIG, Because of the economic collapse that was taking place in 2008, Obama was successful in running for president, because everyone was voting for ANYONE but the republicans, because after all, it's their fault we had all these problems.

Now we're 2 and a half years into the Obama administration, and where are we at? Well, we're still mired in 3 wars, we're paying $4.00 a gallon for gasoline, people are going bankrupt, people are losing their houses, the markets are going to shit, but... The bankers and investors are profiting like nobody's business! Why is that?

Remember all that TARP money we doled out? You want to know where it went? How about all that money that the banks were given for Quantitive Easing? Do you know where that went?

It didn't take much to figure out where that money went, because after all, it's right in front of you.

Instead of taking all that money, and investing it, like they were supposed to, they took it, and bought things. You know how they were going to create millions of new jobs, and fix the economy? Instead of investing in businesses, and bringing opportunity for new industries, they took all that money and bought commodities.

Oil, Gas, Gasoline futures, Gold, Silver, Copper, Chocolate, Sugar, Pork, Beef and grain futures were all bought in massive amounts by a few small companies that got a lot of the money our government gave to them. What did this do for the average American?

Well, it drove up the price of gasoline, heating fuel, food, clothing, and just about everything else that Americans use, and then, caused a lot of small businesses to close, because they couldn't afford to stay open. Why? Because the agenda was to bankrupt the majority, steal their assets, and own more and more of the country. How many millions of people are losing their homes this year? 2.1 Million people are in foreclosure. That's a windfall for banks, because they can write off the debt, and create new wealth for themselves anew. They don't care that you're paying $4.00 a gallon for gasoline, and having to choose between getting your medications, or keeping the lights on. All they care about, is stealing what little wealth you have, so that they can have just a little more.

The worst part about all of this? We did this to ourselves. We allowed all of this to happen. For the last 40 years, this country has been in a death spiral, thanks to LBJ, and every politician that has worked to undermine our economy, and our freedom, and the voters, and taxpayers allowed it to happen. Because liberty, TRUE liberty, is freedom conjoined to responsibility. What we have now in this country, is responsibility, conjoined to slavery, which is the equivalent of tyranny.

You want to thank someone for the economic mess we're in? You want to get angry about how this country has gone to hell, and there seemed no way to stop it? You want to be pissed off because you're finding yourself with even less freedom and prosperity? Look no further than your mirror, because you allowed it to happen. Instead of doing what needed to be done decades ago, you allowed these evil, greedy and despicable monsters destroy your country. I woke up to this fact the other morning while talking to someone who is older than I am. Her excuse was that "We were all just trying to work and survive". Right now, we're all trying to survive, and by being brought down low, they can keep us down because all we're trying to do is survive. I for one want to be free.

The question is, do we march on Washington demanding better leadership, or do we allow this tyranny to continue?

Don't be so eager to blame Clinton. He left office with a surplus in the Treasury and an active intelligence operation against Bin Laden. Bush instantly frittered away the surplus with tax breaks for his billionaire friends, put Cheney in charge of his terrorism commission - which did not meet before Sept. 11th, staged a fake war against Iraq, and a needless and very expensive buddy-buddy deal with Pakistan to sort of fight Bin Laden, and didn't ask his billionaire buddies to pay a dime more in taxes while the country was fighting on at least two fronts. His 2000 campaign and early business advisor was Ken Lay, who might have proven a definite embarrassment if he hadn't dropped dead so conveniently after being convicted. He wanted people to put all their Social Security savings into the stock market -- and then the stock market collapsed. Despite (or maybe because) his awkwardly close ties to the Saudis, he was unable to cope with a tripling of the price of gasoline, which caused a lot of Americans to run into deep trouble with their own bills. Etc. etc.

How delightful. Two, to be kind, misstatements in the first sentence. Kudos.

A. Klinton did not leave office with a surplus. Social Security monies were being used to paper over the actual DEFICIT.

B. Osama Bin Laden was working for the CIA in recruiting Mujahadeen (mercenary muslim thugs) to protect the CIA's drug routes through Kosovo and because Milosevic had the poor taste of cutting a mining deal with a Greek Combine rather than a Rothschild Approved® Combine.

You know that Shoonra will brook no dissent or criticism of Democraps, right? He has yet to snap to the fact that the establishment goons don't g.a.s. about the people who keep electing them. Oh, they care about the votes enough to tell all kinds of big whoppers to get (s)elected but after that they just care about what's in it for them. There are some rare exceptions but so few as to be negligible.

However I might needle him I do not think he is stupid. He knows full well the level of actual corruption, and likely better than most. However, he has his hurdy gurdy he wants to play whether from delusion or disingenuousness.

I suspect not. In his case I perceive an underlying rationale.

Sorry, but it's just hard for me to believe that any sentient, rational being* could still be cheerleading for Obama after Obama has clearly enough shown what he is. Even if you overlook the fact that he isn't even eligible to be president, the fact that he has done, and continues to do, all he can to destroy the country should be enough to quit supporting him.

*Perhaps that is the nub of the problem, not rational.
