in '08 we went to visit some lifelong family friends outside Austin, i hadnt seen them in years. the guy was an army vet with some problems. a few months after our visit he dropped dead of a 'heart attack', he had been to bosnia years prior. learning to fly was his favorite song, his mom played it at his funeral. ;-(

playing around with audio this morning i was downloading some radio programs and thought i'd listen to something more substantial, so i looked up Bishop Sheen & found a vast library of free programs,. I have probably heard most all of them since i grew up listening to this library on audiocassette. but it is nice to see it again. here is the archive, thought you might like it. His talks listed by topic. http://www.fultonsheen.com/Fulton-Sheen-MP3.cfm

It's my favorite too and the one I want played at the remembrance of my life. Remember all the love, all the joy, and all the radiance of your friend when you hear that song, I know that is what he would want. : )

Sappy Love Song

Americans are a desperately dysfunctional society that mirrors a battered wife; too weak to fight back and beginning to enjoy the rush caused by the constant abuse.

that is one of my faves too, ive sang that to my wife on karaoke several times. one time in mexico, i was signing that to karaoke at a party, and imagine about 50 Mexican people some of whom don't even speak english, , ALL joining in for the background chorus "you are always on my miiiiiind...' to set up willie for his final line in the song. i swear it was the funniest thing ive ever seen. LOL!! Great fun. ;-D

Bishop Sheen

Thanks Artisan. This brings back memories of St Thomas Aquinas in the late 50s. Bishop Sheen was watched by my entire neighborhood way back when. BTW, back then I delivered the Brooklyn Tablet. It was a weekly Catholic newspaper that had a heavy touch of the old Father Coughlin message. A friend still has some, believe it or not. If I get my hands on them, I can get them to you, but I'd want them back for a keepsake. The articles will blow you away as to their accuracy.

Some CW singer, maybe Dolly, once observed that Dwight had the finest ass in country music.

Another one of her thoughts concerning gay marriage - Why not? Let'em be miserable like the rest of us.

I believe that was Naomi Judd, who was quite proud when Wynonna was "dating" Dwight when they were touring together.

Great - thanks.

Two things about this song are wrong.

1) She's not a maiden, she's a bar skank.

2) If the handsome stranger drew first, he had no reason to flee for defending himself.

Just my TX opinion.
