COULD IT BE MAGIC- BARRY MANILLOW
(Manilow's recording begins and ends with an excerpt of Frédéric Chopin's Prelude in C Minor, Opus 28, Number 20. The whole song is based on the harmonic scheme of Chopin's prelude.)

AMAZED- LONESTAR
Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life

Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you

HAPPY MAN - CHICAGO

FROM THIS MOMENT - SHANIA TWAIN
"You're the reaasson i belieeeeve in looooove.."

ALL MY LIFE- KC & JOJO
"Aaaallll my liiiife.. I pray for someone like you.. and I thaaaank God, that i finally found you.."

The first time I ever heard this song I was in the car driving somewhere--think maybe to the county seat or coming back from there. My dad had passed away not long before that and I had to pull over.

My wife & I got to see him perform that song at the LA County fair 2 years ago. A nice couple who was going to the show had some friends who were supposed to meet them & didnt show up, & they saw us walking by and asked us if we would like the tickets, which was very cool! My favorite of Greene's is his version of 'how do you mend a broken heart', which he also performed, in a very over- the top, LOL kind of way. great stuff.

in '08 we went to visit some lifelong family friends outside Austin, i hadnt seen them in years. the guy was an army vet with some problems. a few months after our visit he dropped dead of a 'heart attack', he had been to bosnia years prior. learning to fly was his favorite song, his mom played it at his funeral. ;-(

I have probably heard most all of them since i grew up listening to this library on audiocassette. but it is nice to see it again. here is the archive, thought you might like it. LOL!! Great fun. ;-D

Bishop Sheen

Thanks Artisan. This brings back memories of St Thomas Aquinas in the late 50s. Bishop Sheen was watched by my entire neighborhood way back when. BTW, back then I delivered the Brooklyn Tablet. It was a weekly Catholic newspaper that had a heavy touch of the old Father Coughlin message. A friend still has some, believe it or not. If I get my hands on them, I can get them to you, but I'd want them back for a keepsake. The articles will blow you away as to their accuracy.

Great - thanks.

Two things about this song are wrong.

1) She's not a maiden, she's a bar skank.

2) If the handsome stranger drew first, he had no reason to flee for defending himself.

Just my TX opinion.

Lord love her, when she was sober and in studio, she sang like an angel; on tour and on stage, it could go really, really badly.

I mean brutally badly.

Doris Day & Buddy Clark - Confess

--

"The United States today is like a cruise ship on the Niagara River upstream of the most spectacular falls in North America. A few people on board have begun to pick up a slight hiss in the background, to observe a faint haze of mist in the air or on their glasses, to note that the river current seems to be running slightly faster. But no one yet seems to have realized that it is almost too late to head for shore." -- Historian and author Chalmers Johnson"

Captain and Tennille? lol...you win for rough on the ears and bottom of the barrel.

But, you are going to cry when you listen to this song because it is the saddest of the sad.......my ace in the hole for sad songs. Prepare for wet cheeks and grab a hanky!

Even Natalie chokes up when she sings this one......

Oh, gosh, I've never heard of that paper. Care to xerox a few pages for my collection? I used to dig the Wanderer -- guess they'd never hire a Joe Sobran today! Have also dug Catholic World Report. Dr. Fields (Thundebolt/Truth at Last) has reprinted some of Coughlin's Social Justice material. Y'all's music choices are making me feel old -- or interplanetary. But I'm glad younger people than myself are in the Cause, if only by 10-20 years. Sure don't know many personally!
