If the precedent of the 21st President, Chester A. Arthur, a Republican, who was born in Vermont to an American mother and a British father, isn't enough .....
There's the example of Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes. He ran for President in 1912 and 1916, and in 1916 got the Republican nomination for President (narrowly defeated by Woodrow Wilson)... even though, when he was born in NY, both his parents were Brits. He was confident, as was the Republican Party, and almost every other legal authority of the time, that being born in the US was enough, even though neither parent was citizen, to make him "a natural born citizen".
If you still want to insist otherwise, please come up with an unambiguous statement from someone who knows more about the Constitution than a Chief Justice.
