I am not aware of what browsers this happens with but it happens with FF.

At the bottom left is a reading/reporting of what sites or are being 'accessed' as you go to any website. I always see google flash on the screen while loading a page.

I am just wondering is this part of the NSA spying? Is anyone else as paranoid as I am?

Maybe that's because you're using google as a search engine. If you delete it from the list of search engines in firefox, it might stop doing that. You go into preferences to do that I believe.

Under 'Tools' I see that my AVG program has the 'Do Not Track' option going on.

I guess that's why I don't see the tracker/tracer thing that's being discussed.

Actually it is easier than that - click on the down arrow by the search engine bar in the toolbar and at the bottom of the search engine list is "Manage Search Engines", and you make any changes from there.

However, probably what he is seeing is Google Analytics and he has picked up a tracking cookie from some site he visited. How To Clear Cookies in Firefox
