It says, at 0:00:35, that "The Games commence on 27 July" On the French Revolutionary calendar, that date was 9 Thermidor: For historians of revolutionary movements, the term Thermidor has come to mean the phase in some revolutions when power slips from the hands of the original revolutionary leadership and a radical regime is replaced by a more conservative regime, sometimes to the point where the political pendulum may swing back towards something resembling a pre-revolutionary state. Twice they ended on that date: Sweden 1912 and 1924...France. Haven't watched much of the video you posted yet but am listening to it. This is a strange video that was posted recently at Rense.com (link titled: Weird British Airways Commecial Says 'Don't Fly') but isn't there now. It claims to be promoting a Home Team Advantage for Britain during the Olympics by advocating that Brits stay there to root for their athletes rather than travel elsewhere. Something about that "strategy" of amassing troops in a bowl shaped area reminds me of the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in Vietnam, March-May 1954. The French troops were overrun and France left French Indochina, dividing Vietnam into North and South on its way out of there. About 50 years later, two U.S. pilots were reportedly listed as killed in action in the seige of Dien Bien Phu.
