When we were little my sister got in the closet and tore open the Christmas presents to see what they were. When my parents discovered it she blamed it on me. My parents believed her.

She didn't admit what she did for 20 years. Today, I torment her about it by telling her three kids what she did to me.

The slut.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken

I wasn't mad at my sister for tearing open the presents. What outraged me is that my parents didn't believe me.

They never believed me. Whatever someone said about me, they believed it.

A "friend" burned the barn down and blamed it on me. They believed him. Another cut a neighbor's swimming pool with a knife and blamed it on me. They believed him.

This is why I keep my parents in a pit in the basement.

Your sister told me that every word you type here is a lie, and I believed her.

That sounds like an episode of the Brady Bunch.

You're certain that you are not just remembering something you viewed on TV as a child?

I remember the house, the closet, the brown wrapper and my parents yelling at me while my sister refused to 'fess up. I will never, ever let her forget it.
