the logic holds together pretty well for another "very good" kind of operation...
the FBI's been watching these guys, but let them go until they kill a couple people, at which point there can be a media circus, dragged out for days as one red herring after another is trotted out by the usual suspects...
...then, much to everyone's surprise, it turns out to be radical islamists...

now then, if israel wants to unify the US against islam, who benefits, as the US government cracks down on everybody under the pretext of fighting islamists?
and who benefits from the crackdown when everybody more-or-less realizes that the US will turn into a police state rather than let individual states go their own ways?
and what little middle eastern country is dependent for its survival on the US remaining intact?
