It's official, I'm a dual Irish citizen. In fact I'm a citizen of the European union, which includes the following countries;

The ultimate 'Get out of Dodge' piece is now in place for yours truly.

The United Kingdom's Immigration Law is one of the most strict in the world. The United Kingdom (UK) covers England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland. The Republic of Ireland (I got in via a grandparent being an Irish citizen) is a different country than the above and has it's own Immigration law. That said I'm not sure how it would affect you, but I would certainly Google the UKs Immigration Law criteria.

I can prove I had ancestors in Scotland as far back as 1690.

If either of your parents were born there, I believe that makes you a citizen automatically. If you have to go the g'parent route, it takes patience and many certified copies of pertinent documents. I jumped thru countless hoops mostly because my grandmother trimmed her age by 10 years the moment she set foot on Ellis Island :)

Can to.

One of my relatives in Tennessee spent decades tracing our ancestry. Tennessee to Virginia to Scotland.

Nyah, nyah, nyah.

Wallace is the most famous name in Scotland, and most of us are related.

Did the EU tell you how many gypsies you will be issued for your yard? Just pretend that they are 'good luck' yard ornaments, but lock your mower and weedeater out of sight 'just in case' :-)

Your family tree was an olde dead elm that lived a short time in Israel.

I just hope you used kosher sea salt in the preparation of said dessert.....

Congrats! I should have dual status in about another 6 weeks, though mine will be in the southern hemisphere.

Not yet, but hopefully soon.

I'm actually planning a trip to Iceland to study first hand how a nation deals with crooked banking moguls.
