I think my fascination with Carol King and Carly Simon is related to the death of my friend Allison Krause. May she RIP unlike those she left behind. At one time I thought her death meant something.

Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.

When I first read your comment about Allison Krause dying for nothing the only Allison Krause I could think of was the one who sings (and plays the fiddle) with Union Station. But I knew she wasn't dead, or at least I hadn't heard it if she was, and I think it would have been publicized.
