Used to work in an office with a little pond outside. A family of kingfishers lived nearby. While not nearly as dramatic as the osprey clip, it was loads of fun to watch them catch little bait fish. They would catch them in their beaks then take them up into a tree and thrash them on a branch before eating them.

It got to where we had three or four pairs of binoculars in the office. The crows were fun to watch, too. There were redtail hawks in the area, and the crows would fight them mid-air.

Here in Jacksonville Fl. by the river they are nesting as we type along with their cousins, bald eagles. Lately we've had visitors from S. America come up to nest as well. Beautiful birds and wonderful flyers......

"The government ruling us draws its authority not from the principles of the Declaration of Independence, or even from the delegate powers listed in the U.S. Constitution, but rather from the war to re-conquer the independent South. That conflict, usually referred to by the artfully misleading title “Civil War,” established the fact that the government in Washington is willing to kill Americans in whatever quantity it deems necessary in order to enforce its edicts, and then sanctify the slaughter in the name of some suitably “progressive” social objective.

i'm always amazed at the photography!

To question is to value the ideal of truth more highly than the loyalties to nation, religion, race, or ideology.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the Osprey dive and open it's talons, was the German Stuka of WWII. BTW, the email note that came with this vid said the last, larger fish was a five pound Kingfish. That's quite a haul.
