I have a 1999 Chevy Lumina my father gave to me in his will (which replaced my POS Ford van, which went to the junkyard because I didn't want to replace the rack-and-pinion, which was gushing power-steering fluid).

The water pump and the thermostat went out at the same time, and the belt needed to be replaced. So I took the old belt off, changed the water pump, replaced the thermostat, put the new belt on, and put in fresh antifreeze. Now it again runs like a champ.

Turtle is amazing and and can do anything!

Oh, yeah, the fuel pressure regulator went out a few months ago, and I changed that, too. It was leaking a little bit of gas.

Cynicom is jealous of me.

My first car was a 1974 Comet with a straight six. I had to pull out the radiator to change the water pump because the bolts holding on the fan were about a half inch too long, and there was no way to get the water pump off without removing the fan. Did all this outside when it was about ten degrees.

I used to have one of those boxy middle '80s Caprices, which are easy cars to work on....except for the water pump. I had to loosen the power-steering pump to get to...that one last bolt.

As for the '99 Ford Vic I had....it took me two days to change the water pump.

Sometimes I think engineers do this stuff on purpose just to mess with backyard mechanics.

Har har T har har, snicker , smirk.

Sheriff was here today with warning cause my monster cat was making terroristic threats to nearby dogs.

He was fraid to get out of his car.

My cat was on porch spitting at him.

I sold a jeep today as olde as you, in better shape. hehehehehehe

Should I need to change, or even jump the battery in my current ride, I first need to disconnect and remove the wiper fluid reservoir.

It's the bankers fault !

Of course, we all remember you cruising around in your creepy Ford Windstar Van. You'll never live that down.

On purpose. Federal regulators' purpose.

Republicans prefer white genocide to paying taxes or paying more for strawberries.
Democrats prefer white genocide to seeing anyone get ahead.
As the party of principle, Libertarians support white genocide because they oppose zoning.

We have an '01 Deville and a '10 Sierra.

I pop the hood and think, "there must be an engine in there somewhere."

The Lumina has the same problem. I once opened the hood and asked a friend of mine to find the battery.

"I don't see it...oh, here it is, under the washer fluid container.".

The Brillunce of Turtle

Apparently we need a category for fiction/comedy.

Americans who have no experience with, or knowledge of, tyranny believe that only terrorists will experience the unchecked power of the state. They will believe this until it happens to them, or their children, or their friends.

Oh lord I done so much crazy shit like that it makes my head hurt to think about it.

My bud way back when got a blue '64 New Yorker for a song because it had no reverse. We changed out the transmission in the snow and took it to Detroit to see a concert.

Some idiot running a red light T-boned us on Grand River. That was the end of that.
