Plus it's as uplifting as happens in presenting flowers to your better half and enhances the image of the thanker in his showing of appreciation of your efforts so you're more likely to help out again in the future.

Yesterday I overheard one waitress say to another server about some elderly person who had entered their restaurant facility to be seated at their table and made the comment to this server:"Excuse me, please." One of the servers replied to mimick the guest by saying the following in a quite haughty manner,"Excuse me, please" and then walked off. When I overheard this, it explains why nobody wants to dine in a restaurant where the servers disrespect the guests.
