That would be true for floating sea ice but not for the melting of glaciers on land. If you melt Antarctica, sea level will rise.

Unlike most people, you understand it. If the Antarctica melted, the sea level would rise about 200 feet. Some melting may occur. However, regardless of how warm it gets, that is not going to happen since it would take thousands of years, even if the temperature rose by 50 degrees F., and by then we may have another ice age.
