From another forum:

"What was sad was listening to the scanner last night, as cops were panicked being told to stand down and retreat, as they were asking for back up and permission to mask up. The reason they were there is they were dispatched to a large disturbance in the first place. They retreated as they were being chased, and hit with objects being thrown. That's hard to listen to, and I imagine harder for them to have their nuts cut and told to retreat."

Duh, what's so hard? Practice makes perfect.

DemRat lefties have been implementing the same communistic policy in public schools and colleges going on 20 years.

Males - particularly white ones - have been put down, emasculated since Billy Jeff took office with HildaBeast behind the curtain scripting legislation.

CNN is covering this live right now. Interesting enough FNC has not. There is a case that was thrown out concerning Occupy Chicago protestors in 2012. Read here cause those people in Ferguson have every right to assemble themselves on the streets per the First amendment and the cops have no right to infringe on that right. www.suntimes.com/news/met...cago-protesters-case.html

.....they have very right to assemble themselves on the streets...

Not if they're intoxicated in public, which many of last night's grieving revellers were.

That's not what I got from talking with many of the protestors. Perhaps, CNN or KMOV was implying that by what the cops were telling them. They will be having a march in Ferguson at 6 a.m. today. Many of them are still camped outside until then. There were over 200 protestors there. And they are not leaving!

Perhaps the 200 protesters you speak of had good intentions...initially.

However what went down later in the evening was a different kettle of fish.

The "protesters' who showed up were violent looters and rioters. They outnumbered the good intentioned peaceful protesters significantly. Even the "well intentioned" protesters were packing heat and taunting police.

There's the problem - when violent individuals put other Americans' lives and properties at risk - it's not a 1st amendment issue any longer - "protest" should not threaten and attack the rights of others - what's happening in Ferguson in the evenings is a law enforcement issue, not peaceful protest. These are criminal actions that "protesters" are engaged in after hours when TV cameras aren't running. You are deluding yourself if you believe otherwise.

www.cbsnews.com/news/ferg...t-broken-up-after-curfew/

snip

Saturday marked a week since a white Ferguson officer, Darren Wilson, shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown on Aug. 9. The shooting ignited racial tension in the mostly-black suburb and has led to looting and several run-ins between police and protesters.

Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson said the timing of police action on Sunday was coincidental.

Police received a report that people broke into a barbecue restaurant and some were on the roof - creating a potential danger for officers trying to disperse the protesters. Police were responding to that report - not the fact that protesters were still on the street after curfew, Johnson said.

Things got worse when a man with a handgun went into the street as police were nearing the restaurant. He ran away, but there was plenty of violence. A man was shot and critically wounded in the same area. Police were searching for the shooter. Someone shot at a police car - it wasn't clear if it was hit.

Jayson Ross, who was leading the protesters toward police before the canisters were fired, said: "They got guns. We got guns. We are ready."...

...Members of various black community groups were urging people to abide by the curfew, which runs from midnight to 5 a.m. Sunday, reports CBS affiliate KMOV-TV in St. Louis. A woman from the New Black Panther Party walked the street with a bullhorn, telling the crowd: "Please, please be out of the area by 12 o'clock."

Some responded to her pleas by cursing at police, while others acknowledged they planned to leave before midnight.

But Keyon Watkins, a 26-year-old computer science worker from St. Louis, said that if many others stay in the street, he would join them.

"All of this is just building up -- pent-up aggression by being mistreated on a daily basis," Watkins said.

AJ has some good reports from Joe Biggs in Ferguson right now.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken

They'd be very stupid to do so.

My town has an over representation of cops. It's almost embarrassing.

Lots of monied movers and shakers here who own very expensive homes.( alas, not me)

I seriously doubt Tyrone and Jeremiah would get too far with looting here.

I hope to God they have the National Guard out there and not the SWAT team like they have going on in Ferguson right now. The only news outlet covering this right now is CNN. FNC won't go near this.

I think the media is working overtime to inflame this situation. Whites have NPR/PBS and FOX News (chuckle). Blacks have their own racially-oriented media, from radio stations dedicated to black people to their own TV channels: gawker.com/5886857/black-...te-peoples-cable-channels

Meanwhile, CNN and similar are stirring the pot in favor of black unrest. This when a police officer may have been firing in self-defense from the start.

The phrase "if it bleeds, it leads" is used to describe MSM's journalistic integrity or lack thereof for good reason.

They're fanning the flames of "civil unrest" to create more sensationalistic stories.

They could give 2 hoots about the "militarization of police."

Otherwise they would have reported on it several years ago when the blogs were picking up on the theme.

A white police officer shooting a Black choir boy is Pulitzer Prize material in their vulture minds.

Give me a friggin' break if you believe that these journalists have anything more than material self-interest in mind.

All I know is that Ferguson is in flames because a cop shot a large black man after he had escaped police custody, and who was probably running at him full-tilt. Add to that he was strong enough to take six bullets from the front side of his bulk before he went down.

What more do we need to know about this story to "come to a conclusion?"

Well what do you know? So sad for Bubba and Jerome - looting and rioting ( ahem...I mean "protesting") may be drawing to a close. Too bad the Gov didn't talk to Capt Johnson to spare him looking like a schmuck. Sigh.

www.stltoday.com/news/loc...37-b953-910533e8e448.html

snip

Just moments after Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ronald S. Johnson announced early today that new security steps were planned in Ferguson that would not include National Guard troops, Gov. Jay Nixon announced that he was activating those forces.

"Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard to assist Colonel Ron Replogle and the Unified Command in restoring peace and order to this community.” the governor's executive order said.

I've called for the national guard to secure our southern borders. I've called for the coast guard to secure our shores and prevent unauthorized entry by illegal aliens and other criminals. In this case, I support national guard troops defending property and lives in Ferguson.

Yes, I know that the same units would be called if the Minute Men were marching down main street with their muskets ready. But these troops are from this state, and they are peers of the people they've been called to protect.

I don't like saying this but I am. I don't believe for a minute that the "protesters" have anything valid to protest. I wasn't sure at first, but frontal entry of the six bullets tells a different story than the first "eyewitnesses."

They're not protesting for "freedom." They're protesting for more welfare and more preferential treatment.

Considering that Governor Nixon appears to be such a lefty, mush head, putz, who appointed a highway patrol captain to head the riot suppression ( and we know how that worked) slurping drinks and eating donuts might be Nixon's standing orders to the National Guard. Yep. Sounds about right.

The only thing that might get LEO's unleashed to properly shut down this criminal violence of looters, is if Bubba and Tyrone get it into their PCP addled heads to drive over to a middle class white/Asian town 20 miles away to try and cause mischief there.

That's when the sihit hits the fan, no more slurpies and donuts, and this nonsense comes to a close. Bubba and Jerome will quickly meet the acquaintance of the National Guard and their dogs, for real.

Nixon's lefty campaign donors and voters live in those middle class towns. He's not going to lose his Governor's mansion over the likes of Bubba and Jerome and Al Sharpton. Nixon may be a lefty mush head but he's a survivor politician.

There's something to be said for a show of force. The protests may be more civic-minded from here on out. I hope so for the sake of those ordinary citizens and business owners who just want to have a normal week so they can feed their families and barbeque dinner on the weekend.

Ok, CNN has reportedly stated that Gov. Nixon has lifted the curfew for Ferguson, MO this evening but that the National Guard will be out to restore the peace. Another thing to mention is that because of the possible bias in this matter the lead prosecuting attorney will probably recuse themself.

And last but not least there is an official website for anyone wishing to make a donation to the Michael Brown family to help with burial expenses on their son. www.gofundme.com/justiceformikebrown

What hokum. CNN is sinking lower than MSNBC for presenting lies in the guise of factual news. Since the Michael Brown family is on a first name basis with Comrade Holder, maybe the Big Shot Black Panther Lawyer can find some coin in his pocket to pay for Big Mike's funeral. Frankly, it's Officer Wilson who needs donations for legal assistance so he's not railroaded into prison for a crime he didn't do by Comrade Holder.

None of whom, ten days ago, could have located Ferguson with an atlas and maps.google.

What an orchestrated circus, with way too many clowns.
