PressTV...

Iraqi President Fouad Massoum has said it is not necessary for Arab states to join the US-led airstrikes against the Takfiri ISIL militants in Iraq.

Massoum said in an interview on Monday that there is no need for Arab countries such as Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to join airstrikes against the ISIL and its affiliated groups.

The remarks by President Massoum come as certain Arab states have been among the main supporters of the Takfiri militants over the past years.

Several Arab countries have already offered to join Washington in the airstrikes against the ISIL militants.

The American officials say the offer was not limited to airstrikes in Iraq, with some expressing willingness to make similar attacks elsewhere.

Several US and European officials have voiced concern that militants in Syria and Iraq may bite the hand that feeds them.

The brutal beheadings of American journalists by ISIL are the latest and most shocking example of foreign militants threatening the West's interests.

The Takfiri ISIL terrorists currently control parts of eastern Syria and Iraq’s northern and western regions. They have committed heinous crimes and threatened all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and Izadi Kurds, during their advances in Iraq.

The West and its regional allies, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, are giving financial and military support to the militants.

The terrorist group has links with Saudi intelligence, and is believed to be supported by the Israeli regime.

The brutal beheadings of Americans? I don't believe those fake videos

Right...

Mr. Fouad is right. How can the very own father's bomb their children? All arab leaders, except the like of Nasrallah are shameful to the core. They are true sadistic satanist followers like their master zionists.4

dina...

who is this goof who just was installed by US to invite US back in for renewed occupation if Iraq and Syria???2

resistance is futile soon...

In the name of a coalition, the US wants to take the helm to ensure ISIL is weakened but not destroyed to submit and be safe as a subordinate U.S. force in the region. For now, ISIL is given a lesson by pounding on them, and Iraqis are expected to be worn out and settle for protection from ISIL by the US government. Then both sides of the current conflict are controlled by the U.S. government for the WG.

shir... Zionist wounded very badly and now looking for revenge ...they want to change regime in Syria but they wont succeed Enshallah11

Mzoa... So far the only action Arab League has taken by order of the foreign countries is when the gather together to give green light for destruction and massacring of another Arab or Muslim country by their paid mercenaries. Whenever they meet one wonders which poor member country are they going to gang up against and destroy. Libya down, Syria down, Iraq down, Afghanistan down, Pakistan half-down, which member country is next may be Lebanon? Or Yemen or Oman? Take your pick!2

Seyyed Mohammad...

There is no need for US-Israeli air strike against ISIL in Iraq either. Iraqi government should demand the delivery of "bought" military hardware and defend their country by relying on their own forces/people. Those US advisers on the ground and US drones hovering above are the biggest threat to Iraq and rest of the region. Malaki is gone but those advisors he invited are still hanging around, that's actually the biggest problem for Iraq and Syria.

najjar-morocco...

The corrupt Arab leaders want their military used for oppression and killing of their people during legitimate demonstrations. They can't used them for anything else, shame on the military officers for this disgrace.12

anti terrorin reply to najjar-morocco

where was this Arab Military Paraphernalia when Palestine was being attacked and Arab Women and Children being killed or because America ordered them to be Quiet??3

Liberation...

some enslaved Arab Leaders first need to liberate themselves mentally, physically as well as psychologically before they can even think of anything else - these are just people who follow their masters orders!22

america...

He better use stronger words than "there's no need to join in strikes". He should say- "enter our air-space, uninvited, and be destroyed within seconds".33

He is too old to understandin reply to america...

Iraq needs more younger folks to run the country.2

Joein reply to america....

Strange he wouldn't want help as he is not doing a very good job "destroying" ISIS/ISIL. Is he afraid the Arab states will see who ISIL really is? News flash...they already know and ISIS/ISIL is not Islamic.

Anti-ISIL coalition mere joke, says Iran president

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has cast doubt on the sincerity of the so-called coalition to fight terrorism, saying it is a “joke” that the countries which have supported and financed militant groups now seek to fight terrorism.

“It is a joke that the countries which trained, equipped and financed terrorist groups now suddenly seek to fight these terrorist groups,” Rouhani said in a meeting with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajcak in Tehran on Monday.

Rouhani expressed concern about growing terrorism in the Middle East, including Syria and Iraq, and called on all countries to adopt a unified approach to uproot terrorism.

The Slovak official, for his part, called for consultations between Bratislava and Tehran on serious security issues in the world to find a way out of the problems.

Slovakia supports Iran’s status as a regional and international player, he said, noting all countries, particularly Iran, should use their potentials in favor of the campaign against terrorism.

Paris hosted a conference, dubbed the International Conference on Peace and Security in Iraq, on Monday to discuss ways of tackling the ISIL terrorists in Iraq and Syria amid US efforts to form a so-called international coalition to battle the Takfiri group.

Foreign ministers from the main European states, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, Iraq's neighbors and Arab states of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE attended the one-day conference.

Despite the international community’s emphasis on the importance of Iran’s role in the regional developments, Tehran was not invited to the meeting in Paris mainly due to the US opposition.

The US has also announced that Iran will not be a part of its so-called coalition against the ISIL.
