Scotland has made a bold decision to secede from it's counterpart and run things on their own terms.

How long will it take for Texas to break apart from the U.S. once they begin the same road to secession?

If Texas secedes from the union, it will be a free for all to see who goes next. It is written into their State Constitution. ;)

I remember conversing with a liberal during the GW Bush presidency. We were talking about Ron Paul, and while he liked his anti-war positions, he said he could never vote for another president who comes from Texas (never mind that Bush originally hailed from Connecticut, and that Paul came from Pennsylvania).

I wish I could have said that if people don't want to be governed by a Texan, maybe Texans should be allowed to not be governed by other states.
