I remember being quite enamored with Sophia when I first saw her on "Man of La Mancha". Of course I was at just the right age for the viewing. And she offered quite a view.

Now look, you're supposed to go along quietly with the clichés and memes here. No original thought, please -- no wrinkling of the envelope! If Sofia has always been hailed as the Second Coming, than you just say that. Never mind that she's never been anything but a gaunt, soulless, talentless nothing!
One of the many treatises I've always intended to write is how movie gods and goddesses have mostly been the opposite of classical Anglo-Saxon beauty the whole time people have been thinking of them as the epitome of it. Compare Sofia's mug with Deneuve's lovely visage, for instance -- one of the rare exceptions. Lollobrigida seems to have been genuinely pretty, but hasn't had been given anywhere near the deification. Must not have spent as much time on the casting couch.
I see by coincidence there's a link called 'Beautiful Through the Ages' near this one. Note as it plays how negroid the gals look and how often there's a pouty lower lip bulging out like Sofia's. Surely this is the only reason the Jews running filmdom and media have hailed Angelina Jolie as this beauty monster from seventh heaven, cf. outright mulatto Julia Roberts.
