Mirror... Personal helicopters could soon be filling the air - but you'll need £200,000 to buy one
We've already got driverless cars to look forward to, and this was the week in which we were told that hoverboards might soon be a reality.
Whats next personal helicopters for one and all? Erm, yes actually.
Okay, not really. Not for everyone.
Youll need to be minted to own one, but the closest thing yet to a flying car could soon be hoving into view.
A European project called MyCopter has been beavering away at the idea and before the end of the year, a piloted flight of an easy-to-fly vertical take-off aircraft will happen.
Its called the Volocopter and has been pioneered by a German firm called E-Volo.

They claim that it can take off vertically, removing the nagging problem of needing an airfield that has dogged flying cars in the past.
Simple control interfaces have been developed too you wont need a pilots licence to be able to fly one (although you wont just be able to climb on board and take to the skies straight away either).
Other necessary features, such as cameras and sensors that will let flying cars avoid each other are being honed, along with software that will automatically plot GPS routes and assist pilots in bad weather.
The first two-person Volocopter will be delivered in 2016 and will cost a mere 250,000 (£200,000).
Lets all start saving up now, eh? See you in the sky!
