Boosting the Los Angeles Crime Rate Is No Problem for this City Council

In Los Angeles, California, rape is up 7% over last year. But that’s not all! Violent crime is up over 7.6%… and aggravated assault is up 20%.

All of the increases in crime come right on the heels of the L.A. City Council banning high-capacity magazines in the city limits.

According to Breitbart News:

On May 4, 2013, the Huffington Post reported that the LA City Council voted to ban the possession of “high capacity” magazines within city limits. On February 23, 2014, the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that restrictions on concealed carry had to be eased, the LA County Sheriffs Department did not comply. And on July 2 of this year, Breitbart News reported that the LA City Council supported the push to ban “single shot” handguns, a ban which was implemented on the state level.

In addition to the city-level laws, on October 11, 2013 Breitbart News reported that California Governor Jerry Brown (D) signed laws banning lead ammo, expanding criminal firearm storage rules, requiring safety certificates for owners of long guns, and expanding background checks, among other things.

It’s like the city of L.A. wanted to run an experiment to see if gun control would make their city more violent — and managed to find the answer in just a year’s time!

California, which has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, looks a lot like another state that has some pretty strict gun laws, that being Illinois.

But Illinois, unlike California, decided to be practical about their citizens’ safety and actually reversed some of their draconian gun laws.

Starting with granting concealed carry permits, the often violent city of Chicago has seen huge drops in the rate of crime.

L.A. is seeing just the opposite.

If states and cities truly want to see a decrease in the amount of crime, they need only do one thing. Allow the citizens to take self defense into their own hands. That means letting them own guns.

The bigger cities get, the harder it is for people to protect themselves. Budget restraints are taxing police departments in such a way that many are needing to cut back on the number of officers they put on the street (this is especially true in California). And laws designed to keep weapons out of criminals’ hands have only kept them out of the possession of law-abiding citizens

One of the best things you can do to protect yourself is to own a gun.

But this special video presents a way to protect your family from attackers without ever needing to fire a shot.
