Truthdig... We’ve superimposed the congressional record on top of a photo of the chamber of the House of Representatives. It shows H.R. 5859 passing by unanimous consent in the span of one second. AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite

Late Thursday night, the House of Representatives unanimously passed a far-reaching Russia sanctions bill, a hydra-headed incubator of poisonous conflict. The second provocative anti-Russian legislation in a week, it further polarizes our relations with Russia, helping to cement a Russia-China alliance against Western hegemony, and undermines long-term America’s financial and physical security by handing the national treasury over to war profiteers.

Here’s how the House’s touted “unanimity” was achieved: Under a parliamentary motion termed “unanimous consent,” legislative rules can be suspended and any bill can be called up. If any member of Congress objects, the motion is blocked and the bill dies.

At 10:23:54 p.m. on Thursday, a member rose to ask “unanimous consent” for four committees to be relieved of a Russia sanctions bill. At this point the motion, and the legislation, could have been blocked by a single member who would say “I object.” No one objected, because no one was watching for last-minute bills to be slipped through.

Most of the House and the media had emptied out of the chambers after passage of the $1.1 trillion government spending package.

The Congressional Record will show only three of 425 members were present on the floor to consider the sanctions bill. Two of the three feigned objection, creating the legislative equivalent of a ‘time out.’ They entered a few words of support, withdrew their “objections” and the clock resumed. According to the clerk’s records, once the bill was considered under unanimous consent, it was passed, at 10:23:55 p.m., without objection, in one recorded, time-stamped second, unanimously.

This article should have been posted in its entirety including the video of the crime in progress at the end of it. That 3 tribesmen could pass a bill with unanimous consent that puts the US on a war footing with Russia is crazy, and traitorous.

Looks like Kucinich didn't want to embarrass his former colleagues who did what they had to do to ensure Jew support in the next round of elections.

I can't find any record yet of the 3 votes being called "unanimous/without objection" but the Bill Summary & Status for H.R.5859 at thomas.loc.gov shows that it was "bi-partisan": Sponsored by Republican Rep. James "Jim" Gerlach of Pennsylvania's 6th District (called the "Pterodactyl District") and 1 Co-sponsor, the Democrat Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio's 9th District. Likely those are 2 of the 3 votes.

The Wikipedia site linked above for Gerlach says he had announced that he would not be a candidate for re-election in 2014. Dennis Kucinich lost his seat in the House to Marcy Kaptur when his Cleveland District was gerrymandered into hers at Toledo. I don't think there's any war that she doesn't like.

Edited for punctuation + paragraph 1 and to add link 3.

Bill Summary & Status for H.R.5859

Constitutional Authority Statement

By Mr. GERLACH:
H.R. 5859.
Congress has the power to enact this legislation pursuant to the following:

Article I, Section 8, clause 3

The Commerce Clause: The Congress shall have power ... To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

This has nothing to do with regulating international Commerce here. We need to zone all Unconstitutional governmental rogues as a foreign system conglomerate of no authority or powers in America.

Add to gl's list Eliot L Engle as the main culprit per the vid at the end of the article. This is really over the top. I wouldn't be surprised if in the short time I have left, the five pointed star gets changed six pointed one on the flag.

Yes, it is ridiculously over the top, as I'm sure our Founders never intended for legislation to be "passed" like this. I think it was last year when something was similarly called "passed" in the Senate by no more than Harry Reid's vote, as far as I could tell. Can you post the video at the article? I can't see it right now on my computer. Here is some info on Engel:

No! It is a 2 minute .gov video embedded in the article with a player I can't identify without examining the source code.

Thanks for the explanation. I might have seen something of this on CSPAN while I was flipping through channels on the TV at night but soon changed it because I thought all that was going on was a few people were milling about after the House session was over. I won't just presume that ever again.

You can't find a link to engel! You didn't watch the CSPN vid from the article.

Then there must be nothing to this. Sorry for wasting your time.

You at Posts #17 and #18

My computer needs repairs and upgrades. Like I told you before, I can't see the video at the article right now on my computer. I cannot even see the article, just the header. Sometimes I get error messages and the pages close down altogether. Sometimes the entire computer crashes, even when I'm not trying to go back to a site that I've had problems accessing, and then I lose all of the windows I was able to open, along with whatever posts here I was working on. I can see YouTubes but didn't find anything there about this topic's House vote. Maybe I'll see a video of it somewhere eventually and maybe I won't but nevermind about that. Maybe there will be a report online I can read that definitely identifies who the voters were. I don't know what you meant about me not finding a link to Engel. I posted a Wikipedia link for Rep. Engel. Maybe you didn't see it. I didn't think you were wasting my time. Sorry if you thought I was trying to waste yours somehow. I wasn't.

Thank you so much for the book gift. Sorry it took so long for me to find it in my pings. Have been scanning through it and it looks very educational. For now, I'd like to comment on this at page one for historical perspective:

Notice that on May 10, 1942, Major Jordan reported to "UNITED NATIONS DEPOT NO. 8, LEND-LEASE DIVISION, NEWARK AIRPORT, NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, INTERNATIONAL SECTION, AIR SERVICE COMMAND, AIR CORPS, U.S. ARMY."

How could that be?!!! U.S. history and government documents assert that the U.S. didn't join the United Nations until three and a half years later! October 24th, 1945.

Although the UN was reportedly in the planning stages at the US State Department since at least 1939, I believe what's being referred to in the first copied paragraph above is not The United Nations but the Atlantic Charter Allies of WWII that became the precursor/basis for it later. They were the signatories of a Declaration by [those Allied] United Nations on January 1, 1942 in support of the US and UK Atlantic Charter statements of August 14, 1941 (prior to the Attack on Pearl Harbor). The Declaration by United Nations/WWII Atlantic Charter Allies was drafted on December 29, 1941 by Roosevelt, Churchill and one of Roosevelt's aides soon after Pearl Harbor was attacked. It was presented for signatures on New Year's Day and, by the Spring of 1945, 21 more countries had signed it in addition to the many original signers. As for the Atlantic Charter, although it is not a US Treaty and was evidently never even signed by Roosevelt, from that also came "developments" like the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and some current 4th Amendment abuse issues pertaining to information sharing between the US and UK, etc. [Reference: Five Eyes].

Edited last sentence + appostrophe and capitalization corrections.

From many years ago, I believe if you look there is photo in the book of those orders.

Everything points to Harry Hopkins, years later it was decided he was a Soviet agent, and he lived in the White House.

Will try to find the photo but don't doubt there was a United Nations Lend-Lease Depot order, just suspect that's a reference to the signatory WWII Allied Nations that supported the Atlantic Charter and not a reference to The UN org which evolved after the War from their initial alliance.

Everything points to Harry Hopkins, years later it was decided he was a Soviet agent, and he lived in the White House.

Harry Hopkins was the Roosevelt aide named as a co-drafter of the Declaration by United Nations, which was signed by the Atlantic Charter Allied Nations soon after the Pearl Harbor Attack. Roosevelt was also a Soviet agent, imo, and Churchill too. My opinion of WWII is that it was a world scale Communist scam and killing-spree.

Edited comment 1 and sentence 1 of comment 2.
