I can assure you she was more domineering and abrasive in person than her online presence suggests. Since I realize something nice can be said about anybody I'll grant that her odor wasn't as bad online as in person (either before or after her death).

I've met and talked to Fred Mertz on at least 2 maybe 3 occasions and enjoyed meeting him, I found him very amiable in person. Something I'm seldom accused of.

Thanks, Christine. I've been in contact with LP's sysadmin over the past few days. He's been a friend of mine for the last 15+ years. In fact I saw him over T-day holidays as I took a trip back to the states for the event.
He told me about LP's predicament, going dark for non-payment and being unable to contact Goldi. I floated some ideas with him in what to do. I happen to check the LP site today to see if it was back up and what may be going on. Caught word there first of Goldi's passing.
Quite the system shock no? One never expects these things. Even though we're all headed down the same road. As I reflect on this a moment I think I can be thankful for some of her contributions for with out her this place would not exist. Many of us originally met on LP and when things turned south She gave us something to rebel against and a model of freespeech to aspire to which, in all your years running freedom4um , you have excelled at.
She didn't do everything right and many of us found her objectionable. Still, I can't help but to think who among us is without sin. And now she is gone. God rest her soul.

I remember being on Freerepublic.com. I used to post quite a bit there, before being given the boot because of whatever perceived slight the controllers over there felt I had committed. Goldi told me about Liberty Post, and I was a frequent poster over there until she, and others gave me the boot.
In all honesty it wasn't a bad site until a corruptive influence took hold, and pretty soon anyone who was a Ron Paul supporter was sent packing.
I don't pretend to know people I do not know in real life, nor do I pretend to know their motivations. I do know at one point that she and I got along and were friendly. Even though we parted ways with acrimony, I have really nothing bad to say about her or that website.

Remembering a tyrant like her gives her power from the grave. I forgot she existed in real life. Why would I care about her being dead? I am being polite. Which is something she and others were not.
