Hmm. I wonder who will be tasked with giving the boot to small government, freedom-loving posters who refuse to toe the Republican line during election season.

I read somewhere that the foul neocon and Israel-first skank known as outdamnedspot might be taking over the site.

If so she'll turn it into a Ted Cruz porn site

That's funny.

From the sysadmin of LP:

At the end of the day, here is a summary of where we are:

Goldi (Sally) passed away some time relatively shortly before November 13th in her condo. She apparently has no living next-of-kin, at least none that have yet been found. This being the case she is being handled by the county, and the matter is in the hands of the Major Cases Unit of the Sheriff's department.

No personal friends in the area have come forward. The detective I spoke to today indicated that I'm the only person so far who actually knew her that has inquired.

The exact cause of death is not yet known. Her body is being held in the Medical Examiner's Office pending autopsy.

Goldi's cat was found alive in the condo and picked up by local Animal Control who in turn transferred it to Safe Rescue on the 21st. Adoption status is currently unknown but at least he/she should be all right for now. (Goldi loved her pet dearly, hopefully it will find a good home.)

I will be contacted by the sheriff's department with further developments, which of course I will post here as I receive them. (If I don't hear anything for a while I'll inquire further.)

I would like to put in a good word for the St. Johns County Sheriff's Department as well as Animal Control. Everyone I have dealt with has been very courteous, kind, professional, and helpful.

LP will continue to operate, hosting is paid for the next 3 months. I have contacted the web programmer (Neil) who co-created LP with Goldi and wrote the software that it runs on to see if he is interested in running the site long-term. If that does not work out we will need to formulate a plan for LP to move forward.

As a side note, although it is not a direct concern of anyone here, as it happens this has hit during a time when I'm dealing with the recent death of a very close friend from college days. An ongoing part of that is working with the family and others tasked with winding down his business since I handled the tech end of that for him. (Being a sole proprietorship the determination was made that the business could not continue.) So there is a lot on my plate at the moment.

If someone could possibly assist by calling area synagogues to determine which if any Goldi was associated in order to inform them that would be very helpful. (Of the addresses listed for her, 560 Florida Club Blvd. in St. Augustine was current at the time of Goldi's death.) A single point of contact would be preferable, we don't want to bury them in phone calls.

I also have to add that it is pretty low-class to get into political, religious, or personal squabbles in this thread. Show some respect guys. I really don't care if you want to beat each other over the head but take it to the appropriate place.

Thanks for posting that.

That's sad she died so alone that way. I hope her cat finds a good home.

At least she's in a better place where suffering does not exist, and she now gets to know everything there is to know (those are my beliefs anyway).
