You have really got to see this video. It shows 'Black Lives Matter' & 'OccupyLAPD' activist Sha Dixon getting arrested while she tries to deliver a petition to LAPD Chief Charlie Beck earlier this month, January 5th. The LAPD had put up barricades and refused entry to Dixon and other civil rights activists, while other members of the general public were allowed to go to and fro as usual.

After not being allowed inside, at 6:43 into the video an indignant Dixon begins "when you are allowing, you are allowing everyone else to walk past these barriers to walk in that door, but you get some black mothers here, that are demanding it's got to stop, killing our children, and we can't come in?? And we can't come in??? Fuck you, man!" She then starts to daintily climb over the metal barricade in an act of civil disobedience, and a man (who may be her husband?) helps her over as she swings her legs over the barricade and places her feet onto the ground. There are dozens of cops standing around, all wearing bullet proof vests. The six cops in Dixon'simmediate area watch calmly as the man helps Dixon over the barricade. None of them interfere in her attempt to climb over the barrier in her long skirt, which shows they realize that the petite woman is not a threat.

Once she is over the barrier and standing, the police then surround her and start grabbing at her to take her away. A black boy behind the barricade starts to get upset and says what sounds like "don't touch my mom! don't touch my mom!" At that point, a freaked-out LAPD cop actually reaches for his gun in response to the youngster.

The same man who helped Dixon reacts in shocked outrage after the incident. At 7:17 the man shouts "Are you serious? are you serious right now?! At 7:29 he says "You put your hands on your damn gun in front of the kid?? Are you fucking kidding us right now? Are you joking us right now??" He explains that the women were simply trying to deliver a letter to the police chief and asks "for what reason are you arresting these two women, officers???"

If you don't want to watch the whole thing, start the video at 6:40.

The camera then pans to the other side of the courtyard as a young black woman calmly talks to a female officer, saying "you have arrested my aunt and my mother..." But another female protester interrupts her, urging "don't talk to those fucking pigs!" and leads her away.

Another black male then angrily says "you pigs got badges and guns on your waist- you think you can kidnap, motherfuckers??"

can u watch this video start at 6:40, ignore before that. can u see the cop put his hand on his gun, and tell me what you think of that reaction.

they did not charge the woman with anything, they kept her 8 hours and let her go.

i understand this incident was 'mild' compared to many others. but I believe this cops paranoid reaction of grabbing for his gun is indicative of the problems you previously referred to with todays police.

I watched from 6:40 to 7:15.

The protestors got what they came for, that is to be arrested.

Again, I have no idea why anyone would become a cop today or remain one. And as things continue as they are, the quality of the average police officer will further deteriorate making Obama's National Police Force a reality.

Within 5-years be prepared to welcome a TSA-like, armed officer into your truck for a 'safety check.'

im asking specifically about the move the cop made towards grabbing his gun. was it as threatening a situation to warrant such a response from what you saw? at the LAPDHQ with 20 cops beside you and a lady and kid and one upset man there?

obviously I have my opinion but would like yours specifically on preparation for the use of force. to me, the guy looked like am amped-up fruitcake. surely such a drab, annoying event such as was presented from their perspective would not have required such a potential response.

as far as intrusions as I posted to someone the other day I actually don't think its that bad if one minds their own business. I have found most cops that I am forced to encounter in the past few years to be pretty pleasant and nice. I do not believe that police will come into commercial trucks . even inspectors don't do that. ive heard such stories, but never found anything even remotely so.
