U.S. Senator Rand Paul has introduced an 'Audit the Fed' Bill into the U.S. Senate. S.264 is touted as "A bill to require a full audit of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks by the Comptroller General of the United States, and for other purposes. 114th Congress (2015-2016)." The bill, introduced on 1/27/15, has 30 original cosponsors, including Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Mike Lee. After being introduced the bill was read twice and referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. In an unusual move, the yarmulke-wearing junior senator has exempted all 'dual citizens' from participation in the audit. (kidding about the last part;-)
Rep. Thomas Massie, one of several dissident Republicans who had opposed John Boehner for Speaker, re-introduced Ron Paul's "Audit the Fed" bill into Congress on January 8th.
