One of the leading gun control advocates in the country, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has armed police officers patrolling his house around the clock. In addition, there is a sign outside his house warning any potential intruders that armed Secret Service agents are guarding the property.
According to an article in the Daily Caller:
After Emanuel’s son was robbed outside the mayor’s home last weekend, a Fox 32 news report stated that Emanuel, a member of Michael Bloomberg’s gun-control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, has 24/7 protection from the Chicago Police Department.
A sign outside the Emanuel home also informs trespassers that the mayor has Secret Service protection.
Emanuel was formerly chief of staff in the Obama White House. It looks as though he never took down the sign. As a mayor, he no longer has Secret Service Protection.
A gun in a safe in his bedroom might save taxpayers some money.
