The flood wiped out most homes...my dad's included.
We'd never have survived had it not been for the high attic and a boat I found floating around in the backyard.
I thought we'd survived the worst of it...but things only got worse...
My dad had started complaining about headaches, stomach cramps and nausea. I thought nothing of it...but then he started to grow pale like a corpse. And I panicked.
I didn't know what to do so I raced him over to the nearest hospital...
