Texans don't do snow so very well; hell, we don't even do rain all that well.

That's been a source of amusement to me ever since I moved here.

Yeah, actually we suck at it. Makes me wish I owned a body shop.

Ya know, a lot of the problem could be Californian transplants who think they can drive on snow better than Texans.

Either that, or illegals who believe that they can drive at all.

in the corpus area the idiots don't understand that the left lane is for passing not cruising. they will sit in the left lane right up to their exit and cut across two or three lanes (trying) to make it.

For unknown reason(s), our overpasses were left untreated last night...

I grew up in iowa, when the temperature dropped below 0 they stopped laying salt on the roads but that didn't stop people from traveling and doing it without running into stuff. once the backwaters would freeze up good we'd race our cars on it without running into each other or sliding off into the trees.

One of our tenant farmers in Wright county was telling us about having to clear his rural driveway with his D-9 Cat from time to time...that's too brutal for me.

I made a good bit of change shoveling sidewalks and digging cars out of the snow, there was a pack of us, we'd form teams of two and go house to house.
