MEDICARE FEES

Doctors who participate in Medicare face a 21 percent cut in their payments at the end of March. Because of a flawed formula dating to 1997, Medicare doctors are threatened with big fee cuts almost every year. Congress has since stepped in 17 times to prevent the cuts but has failed to permanently fix the problem.

Some will pass the 21% on to the patients, but those who can afford to will simply close their doors. Be prepared for Cuban-style, walk in clinics in lieu of formal doctor's offices. PAs will man the clinics rather than Drs.

Some planned obsolesce about to happen to folks like us.

I no longer feel sorry for doctors. They've fed this big-med beast as well. They have partially only themselves to blame as well.

All in all, I'd use Vets if I could; they have more compassion in my experiences with our critters over the ages.

I'm glad I had a skilled cardiologist available when I needed one.

Bigger, fancier hospitals, new fancy equipment, same old shitty results, only with a higher price tag.

Bloated administrations across the board, much higher price tags since the banking industry (aka insurance houses) are now guarding the henhouse.

The same thing that's happening to health "care" is what has happened to "education."

Now people finally are asking whether or not they even need college since the for less than the average cost of a college "education" you can buy a house.

By the time anyone catches up to that re: health insurance ..., pardon me, health "care," most people alive won't have a clue what America used to be. Many don't now.

I'm not even sure that the results are better since diagnoses are not concerned about actual care and health, they're all concerned with feeding the beast and its components. Those are typically not geared towards increasing health.

You're correct there.

Not sure how well a vet would have done with my bleeding ulcers, so I have to give the highly trained specialists a break here...
