"I have been reading FBI reports for 30 years and I have never seen anything like this"

The Federal Bureau of Investigation purposely distorted its latest round of annual crime statistics in an attempt to make mass shootings appear more prevalent, an expert criminologist says.

John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center, says the agency, which has strayed from bias in the past, appears to have edited the numbers for political reasons.

“The FBI put out a clearly incorrect set of numbers on public shootings shortly before the November election last year,” Lott told Fox News. “I have been reading FBI reports for 30 years and I have never seen anything like this.”

The statistics, published last September, claim that “mass shooter” incidents have seen a drastic rise between the years 2000 and 2013.

“FBI figures released last September appear to show so-called ‘mass shooter’ attacks and deaths have dramatically increased since 2000,” journalist Perry Chiaramonte writes. “The report asserted there were a total 160 such incidents in public places between 2000 and 2013, with attacks dramatically increased to 17 in 2013 from just one in 2000. The statistics also showed murders jumping to 86 from just seven over the span.”

According to Lott, all reports of standard “active shooting incidents” were combined with actual mass shooting events, making the latter appear to be vastly more frequent.

“It is one thing for the Bureau of Justice Statistics or the National Institute of Justice to put out politically biased studies, but there has always been a Chinese wall separating the FBI raw data collection from political pressures,” Lott stated.

After removing the manipulated numbers, Lott and the Crime Prevention Research Center say the revised statistics show a 50 percent decrease in the annual growth rate for homicides in mass shootings.

“The administration has obviously been willing to do a lot to push for gun control; with everything from ‘Operation Choke Point’ to ‘Fast and Furious,’ and this is just part of that push. Given the level of politicization in [the] Department of Justice, this is not particularly surprising,” Lott said.

Although a large number of Americans believe gun crime has risen due largely in part to media manipulation, in actuality, gun crime has plunged more than 75 percent in the last 20 years.

Where are the active-shootings by cop stats?

That's right; they don't keep those numbers.

At least 23 people were shot by police in Massachusetts in 2013 — 11 of them fatally, according to figures provided by Boston and State Police, troubling authorities who say the numbers reflect the growing threats police face, and startling civil libertarians who worry about the prevalence of deadly force.

From 2008 through 2013, the number of people shot by officers and state troopers has grown every year. Over that time period, there have been 86 shootings, 67 of which were determined to be justified. Two were classified as accidental, and two led to recommendations that the officers be retrained. The rest remain under investigation. Last year, Boston officials investigated six officer-involved shootings, compared with 1 in 2012. State Police investigated 17 in 2013 compared with 14 in 2012.

That's slightly more that 1 police shooting a month x 6-years x the entire state of MA. I personally know more ppl that need shooting than that.

Do we know if MA requires 100% statewide reporting of all shootings?

http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/1/30/why-massachusetts-has-the-least-guns-deaths.html

According to the CDC, Massachusetts is the state with the fewest gun deaths per capita, with 233 deaths for the more than 6 million Bay State residents in 2012 — the most recent data available. Only 12.8 percent of households reported owning guns, according to a 2005 study by the medical journal Pediatrics. Nationally, 32.6 percent of homes reported owning a gun.

I found the above info for MA; it appears the CDC has statewide stats on every shooting in the state. As you can see it compares MA to other states.

Here's a great stat for you. According to one anti-gun group the more aggressive a state's gun laws are the less chance one can be shot.

HERE

Notice the high concentration of "A" grades on both coasts and the large number of "Fs" in the South.

The same study should be conducted in major cities ... hahahaha !!!

Blacks and Mexicans don't need abortions, a one dollar lead investment is quicker and cheaper.
