Ling Jihua, the disgraced former "political fixer" of former Chinese leader Hu Jintao, is facing up to 70 death sentences for amassing 2,700 secret documents on incumbent Chinese president and Communist Party chief Xi Jinping, claims Boxun News, a US-based citizen journalism outlet with a reputation for releasing unsubstantiated "insider" reports on Chinese politics.

Ling, 58, was placed under investigation for "serious disciplinary violations" in December by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Communist Party's anti-graft watchdog. As a former director of the CPC's General Office, he had been tipped for a spot on the party's ruling Politburo until March 2012, when he was said to have tried to cover up his only son's death in a sex-fueled high-speed Ferrari crash in Beijing.

It has been widely speculated that Ling had planned to overthrow Xi by teaming up with fellow fallen political heavyweights Zhou Yongkang and Bo Xilai. Zhou, China's former oil and political tsar, was expelled from the party in December and charged with bribery, abuse of power and the intentional disclosure of state secrets last month, while Bo, the former party chief of Chongqing, is serving a life sentence for corruption handed down in September 2013.

According to the Boxun report, Ling had amassed 2,700 documents on Xi since 2007, when the latter still vice president and tipped to be China's next leader. The documents, allegedly collected during Ling's time as General Office director, contain Xi's instructions on an assortment of issues ranging from military, politics and economics to culture and society, and reveal intimate details about his decision-making process and the internal workings of the party.

Ling Wancheng, Ling Jihua's youngest brother, is still said to be in control of this devastating information and has used it to threaten Xi and anti-graft authorities to let his brother go. Ling Wancheng is believed to be hiding in the United States and Boxun claims that he will eventually provide these documents to the US government.

While there has been no official word on Ling Jihua's case, Boxun supposes that he will face at least two serious charges: the illegal possession of state secrets and the intentional leaking state secrets.

If Chinese official Tong Daning was executed for espionage in 2006 for leaking four top secret documents to Taiwan, then it is possible that Ling Jihua faces 70 death sentences for his possession of 2,700 confidential party and government files, of which at least 300 are top secret, Boxun said.

Boxun alleges that Hu tried to get anti-graft authorities to back off Ling, whom he considered a confidant, and Zhou, whom he considered a peer from the same class of the Politburo Standing Committee, which is why the duo have been spared for as long as they have. However, Boxun claims that there is no way Xi will help Hu Jintao save face by going easy on Ling, nor will he renege on the promise he made at the fourth plenary session of the 18th National Congress last year to rule the country "in accordance with the of law."

Obama may yet redeem himself from Zionist skullduggery by getting the Xi recipe for winning friends and influencing people abroad.

Huh?
