I don't know why people are so obsessed with templates and what code I use for my site,. I have plenty of traffic, and they click the links,, but pretty often people will say my site is outdated, ugly, or even difficult or impossible to read.

I don't know WTF they are talking about. it is a blank page, like a white sheet of paper, with content on it. I don't want or need, flashing gizmos or dancing bears or whatever these people are referring to, I have no idea. I can read my site just fine on my laptop, a desktop, or my phone. I don't have to across across the see the lines, etc.

can you tell me if you think my site is hard to read or not?

Don't get me wrong, I am interested in the complaints but I do not understand them. I don't see what is so complicated to read a VERY EXTREMELY SIMPLE white sheet of paper with content and links on it.

here is one example , my standard setup

http://libertyfight.com/2015/rand_paul_meets_with_big_pharma_during_senate_votes.html

and here is one that I put a border around, because someone was complaining that they had to scroll from side to side in order to read all the lines. I don't know what kind of computer would have that problem, ive never heard of it.

here is the one with the border

http://libertyfight.com/2015/sheriff_shot_boy_feared_sovereign_nation_militia_movement.html

and then people complain about my 'tables', say theyre from the 1990s. yes that's actually when I learned html, was the late 1990s, so I believe them when they say that. lol but WTF is wrong with a cute purple table, a box with all the links to my site sections? I think its simple, and serves the purpose.

I look at a google blog template or 4um or any site and I see content with words and links, I just do not get it what is the big difference.

my stuff is posted to a lot of big name sites such as infowars, lewrockell, rense, WRH, etc, and even sometimes corporate mainstream newspapers, and no one ever seems to have a hard time clicking thru, . they don't seem to have a hard time reading it. but I have had this stream of complaints for years now about how the site is 'outdated.' (such as this one http://libertyfight.com/2014/how_i_beat_speeding_ticket_in_Appeals_Court_without_lawyer.html.)

is it just that people like a cookie-cutter look, like mcdonalds, where all the blogs look exactly the same pre-made template?

I actually do have a google blog for emergencies if my site is down, but it looks bad, I cant control how many ads to put or where to put them, and in the end it is the same to me, content (words) and links. Those pre made template blogs only have one ad per page, and you cant even control where it goes, that is insane and very foolish! On my site, I put what I want, where I want it.

I don't know why people seem to think a website must be so complicated to do. its very easy., just as easy as typing this on forum, except maybe adding a bold or italics.

Your site is fine. The complaints probably come from HTML5/CSS geeks saying "OMG he's using depreciated code!"
You could replace your tables with DIV's and use CSS for formatting, that's the "modern" thing to do, but it would look and function much the same. So why bother.
If looking outdated was a problem Drudge would have changed years ago.

Thanks for that input. One thing I noticed is that my site never shuts my cell phone off like many other websites do. Its very annoying . I guess those sites have too much garbage on them.

My traffic and visitors I get prove to me that the big boys (stanford, harvard, jpmorgan, US Senate, US DOJ, warner bros, FOX, etc etc etc ) are interested in the quality of content, not faddish styles.
