Rand Paul sent me a 4um PM, he is preparing a declaration demanding you remove the confederate flag in your 4um sig TODAY. Got it? Otherwise, that means you side with hateful murderers.

The FedGov campaign of hatred against White Southerners just keeps rolling along. Every time White Americans try to embrace Rand Paul he vehemently kicks them away from him.

I hope that if and when the South moves to secede again they adopt a different flag than the Confederate flag, ONLY because it will make it clear that it was NEVER about the flag (or its assumed symbolism) to begin with.

In the meantime, why is it that defenders of the Confederate flag who appear on media shows fail to mention that when the KKK marched it was almost always with Old Glory, not the Confederate flag, while attempting to argue that the Confederate flag is not racist. Dual loyalties, I guess.

"The last American flag" or similar.

Somehow flags as symbols can be both patriotic and divisive.

I was in stationed in Germany (west) years ago. The swastika was a banned symbol IIRC. Went to a friend's home for coffee and snacks - they had fashioned in their wallpaper a swastika next to their wood stove. It was a soft pattern, but once you saw it you knew it was there.

I know, I didn't answer your question.

Two acts of Congress were passed during the Civil War, One in 1864 (13 Stat. 11) and one in 1866 (14 Stat. 321) which allowed slave owners whose slaves enlisted or were drafted into the Union military to file a claim against the Federal Government for loss of the slave's services. The Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 freed slaves in the Southern or 'rebellious' states but in border-states that were loyal to the Union, slavery continued to be legal. If a slave ran away to join the military and the owner knew where and when he joined, the owner could file a compensation claim as long as he or she was loyal to the Union. There were also free blacks who owned slaves. And something else you might not know, it was the Africans who sold their own people into slavery. Union Generals Grant and Sherman were slave owners as well. Confederate Generals Jackson and Lee were not.

Confederate President Jefferson Davis not only envisioned black confederate veterans but also envisioned them receiving bounty lands for their service. There would have been no future for slavery once the armed black CSA veterans came home after the war.

The trick will be finding a billboard company with the stones to put up a Battle Flag on their sign. imo

I've never seen such hysteria sweep the country.

With all the real problems we have, going nuts over a flag...

Put a link back to 4um & the traffic will skyrocket along with media coverage. You'll need a page explaining what point you're trying to make. Ill look for billboard spots since I see cheap ones nationwide. Y'all must draft a design & prepare cogent text for the sign, & webpage.

Good on you, Fred. Yankee isn't latitude; it's attitude.

I have a friend here in the South who is originally from NYC. He says that George Wallace was very warmly received there when he ran for president in 1968. Choruses of Dixie, hearty cheers, and waving Confederate Battle Flags. That must have been a sight.

Wallace was a real threat to the establishment; he had to go.

Look at the rubber-stamp clowns that we have running today; true sock-puppet candidates.

Considering that most Americans are now TV educated, we can understand a general lack of response to a frightening turn of events in this country.

Example...Today at the Supermarket, I chatted with three ladies in the 45 to 55 age range. I asked them when did the Civil War start. Here are their answers...

Late 1700s... About 1880... Year of 1910..

They all vote and knew nothing about the flag controversy.

In their defense, they could be fully engaged with staying alive and keeping their families going; not having the luxury of learning things that we here have.

Still, it shows the butt-ugly failure of our education system.

I don't suppose that this -- or any other Black attack on Whites -- will ever make the news. But if it did, I'm sure that Rand Paul and Nikki Haley would be calling for the re-naming of all MLK Boulevards to NBF Avenues. Right?
