A Black Mans Stunning Reason Why He Keeps a Confederate Flag
Byron Thomas, a black student at the University of South Carolina, owns a confederate flag.
Thomas is among a small minority of blacks who own the confederate flag, even though they know it was once used to represent the Southern Army as they fought agains the North.
The debate about the confederate flag has grown fierce ever since Dylann Roof went into a church in Charleston and killed 9 blacks.
People of all color have been clamoring for it to be taken down and banned wherever it might be found.
When Thomas was asked why he displays the flag in his home he replied
I refuse to allow a symbol or word have power over me to make me feel offended.
You can see the entire dialogue below.
You can be sure if Thomas was a white person he would be relegated to the dustbin of history as nothing more than another racist who just doesnt get it.
What do you think about this?
Is it strange for blacks to have a Confederate flag for that matter does the flag even equate to racism in any sense?
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. ~ H. L. Mencken
