Gone with the wind....

“With the exception of Whites, the rule among the peoples of the world, whether residing in their homelands or settled in Western democracies, is ethnocentrism and moral particularism: they stick together and good means what is good for their ethnic group."

One of the things I miss the most are the old analog AM receiver in the dashboard of the car.

At night you could fiddle with the tuner and get stations from all over North America. A lot of them had a little set screw hiding behind the tuning knob that would allow you to tune the antenna to better zero in on Nashville or Mexican blowtorch transmitters.

They were fun -- I loved punching the buttons, and pulling them off :-)

Polaroid Land Cameras! Such a novelty, but they wouldn't alas work on a boat or plane.

Yep, some things live on very well for us.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken

I went with my spell checker which got it wrong.

It is ROLODEX! I just made the eyeball check.

These new-fangled things...sheesh!

They were great until you accidentally pushed one or two of them into the trash, and then your contact info was REALLY GWTW all right. A friend realized with horror she'd done this but the small business she worked for miraculously didn't seem to miss them.

Talk about "never going back again," I don't miss the clutter and I LOVE having everything in 1/8 of a cubic foot of space -- my laptop! (Wait a while, why is there still all this clutter?.....)
