Ke Xiaoming, said to be the former wife of Chinese president Xi Jinping, said that he is not an idealist but a practical man who makes detailed, organized plans, according to a post on WeChat account "Fangshishujian." After the post was reposted thousands of times by other WeChat and microblog users as well as overseas media outlets, the original post was deleted and the account was shut down.

The 64-year-old Ke, who is also known as Ke Lingling, is said to be the youngest daughter of former Chinese ambassador to the UK Ke Hua. Rumors have circulated stating that she is a senior manager at a private hospital in London and a guest professor at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies.

The Fanshishujian post said their marriage only lasted for three years between 1979 and 1982. The post said that after they divorced, Ke emigrated to the UK and Xi ran for the party secretary of Zhengding, Hebei province. Xi is said not to have approved of Ke's decision to leave the country. Ke tried to persuade Xi to move to the UK with her but Xi declined, according to the post.

She and Xi reportedly had very little in common, which Ke considers the main reason their marriage failed. Ke also chose divorce because Xi was very ambitious and would not listen to her, according to the post.

Xi is said to have tried to salvage their marriage and called her almost every week during the first three years after she emigrated to the UK.

She was cited by the post as saying that she is more than happy to see Xi become Chinese president.

Ke said she was an idealist but Xi was not, according to the post. She said women would probably prefer a more romantic man to the inflexibility of Xi, which she guessed has a lot to do with his education and how he was brought up, according to the post.

They are said to have met once in person in Shenzhen after the divorce. Ke and her father and elder sister were there to visit and pray at the family grave. Xi who was vice president at the time, happened to be on an inspection tour of the city, according to the post. He shook hands with Ke and her family members and they chatted for around half an hour. Ke reportedly said Xi appeared to have aged a lot.

The Chinese president is scheduled to visit the UK in October, which will be the first time a Chinese leader has visited the country in ten years. Ke has reportedly received an invitation from the Chinese embassy to a welcoming dinner. She said the visit will benefit both China and the UK and she is proud and happy about it as a Chinese immigrant in the UK, according to the post.

Sounds like Ke dumped Xi. Strange that heads of former communist super powers, Putin in Russia and Xi in China, have had family breakups. Maybe if Xi hadn't put on so much weight...
