PressTV... A prominent analyst says the United States’ strategy is to destabilize the countries in the Middle East in order to prevent any geopolitical challenge to Zionism.
Kevin Barrett, with Veterans Today from Madison, said in an interview with Press TV that the Pentagon is using “a new kind of warfare” which involves “destabilizing countries by working with non-state actors such as ISIL which was largely created by Western-allied intelligence.”
“I think that the US strategy is to keep these wars going in order to keep the pot boiling, destabilize these societies so that they’ll never be strong and stable enough to pose any kind of geopolitical challenge to US and Zionist power in the region,” the analyst stated in reference to continued militancy against the governments in Iraq and Syria.
Barrett also noted that “if the Western forces really had wanted to help equip, arm and train Iraq, they would have delivered the fighter planes that Iraq bought and paid for but were withheld by United States.”
“In terms of actually doing something to prevent the ISIL, very little has been done. The bombing campaigns have allegedly been largely ineffective ... so there are all sorts of questions about whether this [is] really a genuine fight,” he said.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists have taken control of some parts of Iraq and Syria. The Iraqi army, backed by pro-government tribes, Shia volunteers and Kurdish Peshmerga forces, has so far managed to make significant gains in the fight against the terrorists.
The US-led international coalition has been conducting air raids against ISIL positions in both countries. However, many have already criticized the coalition strikes as being ineffective.
