The Newest and Dumbest Reason Liberals Are Furious With the NRA
Most people don’t realize the NRA didn’t come into existence to lobby for gun rights.
If it hadn’t been for the constant interference by anti-gun groups to strip us of our second amendment gun rights then the NRA would have continued to exist as an organization who helped train National Guard members.
Which is why liberals’ outrage over the NRA being able to help train the Indiana National Guard on proper concealed carry is laughable.
The Huffington Post writes:
"The National Rifle Association has been instructing Indiana’s National Guard members on how to use concealed weapons after Republican Gov. Mike Pence directed the state’s military bases and training centers to beef up security in response to recent attacks in Tennessee.
According to a survey by The Associated Press, Indiana is the only state to enlist the NRA’s help in the training, which the gun-rights group says it will conduct free of charge for any guardsman who wants to carry a concealed handgun.
Although National Guard members traditionally have not been allowed to carry weapons while conducting most stateside duties, Pence is one of 14 governors who decided to arm them in the wake of a gunman’s attacks last month on two U.S. military sites in Chattanooga that left four Marines dead.
Gun control advocates argue it’s inappropriate for a state to involve a political lobbying organization in training members of the military, and even some National Guard officials from states that allow guardsmen to carry weapons question why a civilian organization is needed."
The truth is the NRA was originally formed in 1871 for the sole purpose of teaching soldiers how to shoot better.
Union veterans of the civil war organized the NRA to increase marksmanship and they’ve been training National Guardsman since that time.
Actually, training longer than the National Guard has even been in existence (the National Guard was formed under the Dick Act, or Militia Act of 1903).
So for liberals to cry foul is merely a way to try and de-peg the NRA another notch or two. Which is quite unfortunate. The NRA is one of the leading organizations promoting the safe and proper use of weapons.
Anti-gunners who try and resist that are doing nothing more than inviting unfortunate accidents to occur later on down the road.
