By now, every Houstonian within arm’s reach of a radio or TV remote has heard the news: Ours is the most diverse city in the nation, surpassing even the Big Apple itself as the new melting pot of modern-day America.

But here’s something you might not have heard: A recent report from the National Center on Immigrant Integration Policy’s Migration Policy Institute (try saying that one time fast) noted with pride that Houston’s immigrant population had grown at nearly twice the national rate since 2000. Whereas the rest of the country saw an increase of 33 percent, Houston’s own immigrant population grew by a staggering 59 percent. As of 2013, the year the report was written, nearly one in four Houstonians had been born abroad—1.4 million souls on 1.4 million paths, all converging on a city with arms as wide as the Gulf of Mexico.

My heart goes out to Houstonians, having myself fled NYC because of the Invasion. Very soon your option will be to move away from this mess or live among the Diversity the socialist loons are shoving down your throat. Good luck.

I'm sure most Texans would agree.

It only gets worse if you visit the site.

Sixty five years ago this month, I was in Texas, buying Spanish language newspapers every day. Five cents a copy and I knew not a word of Spanish.

Into October, the nights got cold, we were sleeping outdoors, under a tent roof only. Civilian clothes, one blanket.

There was NOT ONE DAMNED BEANER AMONG US, all were poor white trash, mostly from the Northeast

Cyni - I cannot tell you how ready I am for the cool of fall to get here; the seemingly never-ending summer oven is getting to me. Hovering around 100 degrees every day is just wrong.

In October it was sweltering during the day and cold at night. We bought beaner newspapers to sleep on. Double the blanket on top, thousands of us sleeping outdoors.

The war was hot, the receiving process was 24/7 by the numbers. Bodies were needed.

This was the highlight...One morning we were rousted out at two AM to go to supply and sign for a athletic supporter. We did not get one, merely signed swearing we got one because regulations required.

On the form we signed, swearing we received said item, was little check mark saying we didnt really. I knew then the military and I were not going to get along.

Why ever in the world did anyone think that jockstraps were needed?

I understand that some company made millions on the contract, but please!
