WOW: All 3 Jeopardy Contestants Miss This Patriotic Question

For most Patriotic Americans, the recent question on Jeopardy would have been a “gimme.” But, what happened after host Alex Trebek asked this question was a rarity for Jeopardy – Silence. None of the contestants even attempted to answer this question.

The category selected was, “Memoirs” and host Alex Trebek read the clue, which was: “In 2015’s ‘American Wife’, his widow Taya talks about their life together & coping with his death at a Texas gun range.”

All three contestants were dead silent. The famous Jeopardy buzzer finally beeped and Trebek, with a slight glare, informed them of the proper answer.

“That man was Chris Kyle, American Sniper,” Trebek said.

Several people watching the show took to Twitter to express their frustration that nobody was able to provide the answer.

People, come on. Chris Kyle, the legendary U.S. Navy SEAL sniper with the most credited kills in U.S. military history, was one of the greatest American heroes ever. While I suppose I wouldn’t expect certain groups of non-military people to know that, they should at least be aware of Kyle’s bravery and status through his hit book and Hollywood adaptation, “American Sniper.”

Sadly, if the question revolved around the Kardashians or Honey Boo Boo, all three buzzers probably would have lit up within milliseconds.

What’s sad about this event is what would have elicited fast responses? Surely subjects around the Kardashians, People’s Sexiest Man Alive or other pop celebrity trivia would have been a race with the buzzer. But, an American hero like Chris Kyle goes silent.

What do you think? Would you have gotten the answer correct? Do you think the contestants should have known the answer? Leave a comment with your thoughts below.

His death was, well, ironic. Talk about living by the sword and dying from it?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Kyle#Death

On February 2, 2013, Kyle and a companion, Chad Littlefield, were shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh at the Rough Creek Ranch-Lodge-Resort shooting range in Erath County, Texas.[39] Both men were armed with .45-caliber 1911- style pistols when they were killed, but neither gun had been unholstered or fired. The safety catches were still on. Kyle was killed with a .45-caliber pistol, while Littlefield was shot with a 9mm SIG Sauer handgun. Both guns belonged to Kyle.[40]

Routh was a 25-year-old U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Lancaster, Texas.[41] Kyle and Littlefield had reportedly taken Routh to the gun range in an effort to help him with his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Routh had been in and out of mental hospitals for at least two years and had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.[42] His family also said he suffered from PTSD from his time in the military.[43][44] On the way to the shooting range, Kyle texted Littlefield, "This dude is straight up nuts." in which Littlefield responded, "Watch my six", military slang meaning "watch my back".[45]

After the killings, Routh went to his sister's house in Midlothian and told her what he had done. His sister, Laura Blevins, called 9-1-1 and told the emergency operator: "They went out to a shooting range ... Like, he's all crazy. He's fucking psychotic."[42][46] Local police captured Routh after a short freeway chase, which ended when Routh, who fled the scene in Kyle's Ford F-350 truck, crashed into a police cruiser in Lancaster.[47]

And the obsequies were sicking: "A memorial service was held for Kyle at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on February 11, 2013. Kyle was buried on February 12, 2013, at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin, after a funeral procession from Midlothian to Austin, stretching more than 200 miles (320 km).[48] Hundreds of people lined Interstate 35 to view the procession and pay their final respects to Kyle."

amerikans love death and war. It often appears they love it more than anything else. It brings vicarious thrills to those not directly involved. Sloppy sentiment flows in their collective veins.
